The Zetec testing is not full at Brands for FFF. There is only 1.5 days testing this year. Last year there were 4 days of testing

Wayne, I just said Zetec, not Zetec engines. It [FF1800] just hasn't worked over the last decade the way FF1600 did - and is doing again.

As Brands is only allowed 28 cars on track, what happens to the heat system if they:

1/. Get 28 or less entries?

2/. Get say 30 entries?

The Finals are worded that basically everybody qualifies from their heat into the semi and then again into the final. So it isn't so much a knockout competition as a three races for your entry fee scenario. You have qualifying to set your heat starting position, then your finishing position sets your starting position for your semi [qualifying basically] and your semi final finishing position sets your starting position for the final [qualifying again].
So those who will do best will be the ones who don't throw it off in their heat or semi, as starting at the back makes it just that bit harder.

Any news from Zetec No.9 yet, or are you out in something else?

The car is still available sorry I missed this thread I don't normally look at national & International single seaters. RedRacer77 I will PM you tomorrow with the details (on my office pc). Guess you'd still get an entry.

Sato san, there is qualifying from lunchtime followed by three races for Minis and VSRs tomorrow.

Seeing as this thread is so quiet, anyone got any tips for the win? I'm going to back dark horse Daniel Clarke.

Agreed bella, that's his weakness. He does go quickly round there, but can he manage 60 laps without binning it?

I'm going for a double 'Van Rooyen' engine win.
Charlie Donnelly in Zetecs and Ed Moore in Kents.

Wet - Donnelly
Dry - Makela
Clarke? - if he`s the last car running! (and having watched him qualify at Brands 2 weeks ago that`s a distinct possibility.......)

Only 2 of note...

van der Slik - had some practice at Brands in the summer in an Avon round coming 2nd I think (beaten by team mate Michel Florie) - beat the likes of Wilkinson, Yamaguchi etc fairly easily.

Dennis Retera - Geva`s only entrant. First time at Brands was today. Unknown quantity - apparently quite good.

Both out at Brands today. van der Slik spent a lot of time clearing gravel out of his car and Retera`s broke down on bottom bend!

I think I might be right in saying that the person finishing 2nd in the UK Forula Ford Championship over the past couple of years has gone on to win the FF Festival... so if that sequence continues, I'd say Dan Clarke could well be a very good possibility! OK he throws it off too often at times, but the entertainment value with Dan is that it is all or nothing for him.. should be very entertaining!

Clarke on track for 60 laps without a crash

Makela or Donnelly will win it!

Grid for heat one shows Hohenthal and D'Agostino on row one, Makela and van der Slik row two, Wilkinson and Donnelly row three.

And heat two is Morgado from Kimball, Annala, Sandher, Clarke and Neil Fowler in a 2003 Ray - not the new one.

Quite, but someone had asked about it in another thread - or it might have been this one - so I clarified!
