Cooper T76 F3 19 65

I think I can answer John Lindsay's problem. The first photos of his car when "arrived" look the same as a Cooper T76 I owned in 1968.I bought it from a Hillclimber ,Jack Maurice, who then ran a Ferrari 250LM instead!!It was fitted with a 1100 Holbay Downdraught with twin 40 DNL Webber carbs,Not a SCA,and a Hewland Mk4 5 Speed /LSD;The final proof was it had JAP Magna 10in rears with Cooper 7 in Fronts fitted with Dunlop 970s,just as in the photo above. The colour was French Blue with the Cooper white stripes and White nose ,and the same Engine Cover as shown and up/over Exhaust.I raced it in Monoposto and Club until a Cooper T83 came up.I crashed that at Snetterton, and sold the T76 and 83 to Robs Lamplough end of 68.As I have explained on the Brabham thread, in the 60s and 70s you had to register your Car with the RAC for a "Carnet" to take it overseas. When you were not racing abroad ,it was common to lend Chassis number plates + the Carnet to Friends with similar cars to short cut red tape and beaurocracy,so if you look closely at Race Programs you can easily get confused as 2 cars may be racing at the same time in different places!!One in England and one abroad with the ?Same Chassis!!!I lent the Chassis plate from F3 19 65 to a friend, who was racing in France and Scandinavia, and did not get it back, before it was sold to Robs Lamplough who had then already sold it on-I still have it!!On the back of the plate is scratched the name Kinnanen, who was the first owner in F3 in 1965.It was totally Standard as a F3 Car with a revised Rollover bar, unmodified from that spec, apart from Engine/Gearbox when I sold it.Hope this helps, and I have sent photos of the Car and the Chassis Plate to John.Mike Stow

John, are you still following this thread?

Jack Maurice was 6th overall at Castle Howard 13 October 1968 in a 1.5-litre Cooper T76-Ford. Sounds like Monoposto specification.
