I guess Weaver considered it the best chance to get ahead and disrupt the Audis? From his POV it worked!

There was a fun battle between the classes. Luhr and Dayton had a fun few corners.
In class the four GT1 cars are still nose to tail. I don't think there have been any changes, but one slip up... |

Now that took what, 10 minutes under yellow for a car in a gravel trap? How many laps under caution?

It was a useful 10 minutes for me. I was on time-slip and then managed to catch up live!
Well that was the slip up in GT1 and it has mixed it up. Did the Audi #1 and the Aston get together? Porsche leads and McNish has had to battle back to second. The Aston leads GT1 now, but did it short fill? Canada corner (T12) is causing a few problems for the drivers out there. |

The BMW didn't want to be left out and tried to find the Canadian Party.
Dyson has been caught out pitting when the pits are closed. |

I missed that.
3rd caution. Now a 20 minute shoot out. No cars between the Audis and two cars between Pirro and Leitzinger. |

The #2 Audi, accpording to McNish, had a damaged rear diffuser after the first corner. Although it was consitently the fastest car over the race in the last few laps they couldn't really shake the Dyson.
Pirro was a happy chap afterwards |

That was a thoroughly entertaining race IMO. Nice to see the Ron Fellows vette finish in the front.
Road America is a terrific track as well. It would be nice to see an endurance race there. 12 or 24 hrs. |

I really enjoyed the race. I couldn't watch it live as housemates had taken over the TV (the joys of being a motorsports fan in a shared house!!) so I resorted to Hindy and co on the internet.
The commentary was just excellent, felt like I was there. Made it really exciting, thanks to Hindy, Mowlem and friends. I dunno why I've never really listened to the webcast before. Great stuff. |

Treu enemy-ace,Road Atlanta is a great track. I only saw it on the telly a few times but had the chance to download a good version into my GTR racesim to get a good taste of it. Really beautifull course,
nicely long too. |

Front straight Road America is 175-178 mph for the Corvettes. The P1 cars are into the mid 180s. Only LeMans has a faster straight. Road America is 4 miles long, Road Atlanta is 2.6 or so miles long. |

The ALMS/ LMS GT2 cars are almost as fast as the Grand AM Datona Protorype cars. I have had the pleaser or displeaser of being on track with a few Porsche GT3 RSRs ( ALMS GT2 prep) I only run about 400 hp to the ground and they were just GONE. Truely impressive. |
