It is S2000, although locally homologated (in Estonia).
I notice it's a 3-door shell, proper S2000 regs specify a 5-door. TOCA normally insist on a 5-door even for locally homolgated (i.e. Dynamics' Civic), other series aren't as strict. Hopefully they've spoken to TOCA already to clear any scrutineering / homolgation isses. |

I expect they've done their research. They're a very professional outfit, you only have to look at the Golf R32 they used to run in the VW Cup and their Sport Maxx cars to see that. Usual nonsense on the btcc forum, not believing anything until it appears on the website.

Is it homologated in Sweden? If it is, it's eligable for the BTCC as the two have dual homologation agreement. This should be treated as a separate case, mainly that they are not developing this care themselves and that it's already race abroad.

Have to say I am a little bit shocked with the huge response that this has received. Very positive. We had very positive talks with Peter Riches (BTCC Technical) before and after purchasing the car and he has agreed to allow the car subject to the usual pre-season TOCA checks. He is happy that the car is 3 door not 5 door. He was extremely helpful. Cheers Shaun. |

I echo all other comments that it is great to see you on the grid and its great to see another car on the grid....however....would it not have been easier to buy a car that is already proven and comes with set up data for the BTCC such as erm, John Georges Integra? I know its more ££ but it could be worth it in the long run..
But all the best and i hope you do well Simon |

They're VAG specialists, so that would explain a lot about the choice of car.

But as you stated on your site, "we expect 2010 to be a gradual development season", therefore you aren't expecting magic. Anyway, thats just me being cruel, seriously best of luck in 2010 and i really hope you can stick your noses in front of the big boys. |

Hi
Thanks for the support. The easy choice would have been to buy a Leon because that would have still ticked the VAG box for us especially as we have a great relationship with SEAT after winning the Dunlop Sportmaxx Cup in 2009 with our Leons. But......the PR value of "just another SEAT" in the BTCC is virtually nil for AmD. A VW Golf in the BTCC is a completely different ball-game PR wise! Its up to us to make sure we have the right balance between news worthiness and race worthiness? I haven't seen any comments regarding running a second car but if we did it would be built by us in-house. However running 2 cars would be over ambitious at this stage. This car needs a a thorough strip down and numerous technical changes to comply to RACMSA regs before the season starts in April. This work, including aero changes, will be completed in-house and we will include details on our Workshop Blog. Cheers Shaun. |

The engine is built bt KMS in Sweden? If so, I guess it hasnt had any development at all in the last 2 years since VAG pulles the factory support from them after the 2007 season? You're sticking to this engine or making room for a different engine in the car?
