Hi everybody. Haven't logged on for a while. This sensuous beauty, known as "Madge" will be making her debut in the U2TC race.

Plus I'm doing the 6 Hours in an MGB with Bill Kirkpatrick and Andrew Smith- same line-up as last year.

Looks like rain is the only thing we will be seeing, but plenty of it.......

At this stage only Sunday seems to be partly cloudy, rain for the other days.

My first MG was an 1100. Connaught Gree bottom and roof, Old English White sides. Great car and being a bit of a numpty with cars I let it go for peanuts because the clutch cylinder rubbers went and I didn't know how to repair them.

Went like stink and certainly good enough to frighten the mini brigade.

Looking at the entry list we've got the smallest capacity engine in class B. If our shakedown at Oulton is anything to go by, we've opted for the wrong ratios - there are two choices in the period homologation fiche and we've gone "long", so much so that when I tried using third gear and deliberately carrying too much speed in on the entry to Knickerbrook she bogged down so much I needed to go down to second to avoid stalling on the way up Clay Hill. And the 1-1/4 SUs don't help- the engine wouldn't pull a sailor off your sister at the moment.

I've probably got one of the largest capacity engines in my race but the nearest I've been to Spa is a brothel in Liege when I was 15 and I can't drive so size isn't everything as the saying goes.
