Just because it's an interesting question, doesn't make it a good one. But thanks for the answer.
Sounds like it's 6 of one 2x3's of the other in terms of reparing a locally sourced chassis or an imported one for minor to medium bingles and I guess anymore than that and it's going to expensive no matter what you drive. Nice fore-thought having a spare chassis available (although here's hoping no one needs it!). |

Doesn't look like they had a choice, SC own that aero design:
"The new all-Kiwi series has used a Holden V8 Supercar front bar and rear wing on its prototype machine, but as the front and rear wings are intellectual property of V8 Supercars, the V8SuperTourers have been forced to design its own wings" Personally I think creating your own identity is a good thing, if you always try to recreate what someone else is doing you'll only ever be seen as watered down version of something else |

agree totally!
it's just their media machine keeps throwing in a "looks/sounds like a V8SC" or a "similar speed to a V8SC" etc. if they wanted a V8SC they should've built a V8SC |

So... when are they going to announce Mr Radisich's new appointment as CEO of the NZ V8SuperTourer organising company?

That's good news for V8ST. Radisich knows touring car racing and what works and doesn't work and he has some international experience as well. I think it's a good move for both parties involved. |

It looks like this series is really starting to get some traction.
Key personnel in place, a top lineup of drivers, a good car which is nearly sorted, all cars sold, with a couple still trying to buy in. Paul Radisich is a very well liked person, and Shaun Summerfield is so much better as a presenter/commentator than that bloke on the other channel! |

much respect to Radisich!
Summerfield normally acts like a 10 year old girl at Bieber concert! ha the guy needs to be reminded that he's a presenter/commentator not a love sick groupie. |

Yes, granted the enthusiasm carries him away a little sometimes, but at least he doesn't have a copy of the 30 year old book of cliches and bad jokes the others keep trotting out to fill in the silence. Personally I think the most professional presenter on NZ TV is Geoff Bryan, and while he is not a "specialist" motorsport presenter, I think the others could learn a lot from him.

I saw Paul last weekend at the revival and he didn't look like that shot. This is a great call for nzst along with Cherie brown who did a grate job for rally nz when it was full time. You turkeys need to get over yourselves on the tv thing. Who and What do you want in what position? There is a big difference between a commentator and a presenter and Shaun and Geoff are presenters. Clint brown is the best in any position because he is passionate and there isn't many people in nz that are apart from race drivers that don't have their wallet in mind. Jamie is passionate, fantastic but over used probably thanks to budgets from a certain organization. How many nzv8 teams will be at pukeekohoe?

So what are the support classes for this series?
I have heard that there isn't any... Other than the NZV8 guys who have switched to supertourers who are going to run their old NZV8s in a supertourers "development" series. There's a few other rumours floating about too. Such as maybe the number of 16 cars being inflated etc. And the cost of the cars being rather high. I've been told that the 200k only gets you the bare chassis. Imo the last think NZ motorsport needs is another spec class. Sure I reckon if it comes together they will be a cool class to watch. But to the general punter they will become like Tier 1. Boring spec classes. |

The V8 Supertourers don't necessarily need to arrange and deliver the entire weekend's events. Individual Car Clubs / track owners can (and I'm sure will) help with providing support classes which would give their members a chance to run in a high profile event and give it something of a local flavour.

I'm sticking with the Production Car racing, clone car racing ain't for me. They may be quicker but don't mean better racing. Can't beat the Ford/Holden battle
