i didn't use the trainer to actually train different parts of the circuit .. i think i might have well over 100 laps done on it .. most of them with the keyboard ..
the thing is . not to get frustrated |

You just need to know where to push, and where to 'coast'.
Generally speaking the faster the corner the more risks you want to take, and vice-versa. |

Couldn't get the trainer to work anyway. Just puts me in the pitlane all the time. Will have to do it the hard way.

it's a thing only at the begining . and you still need to heat your tires . so just Shift+R and stay on track

Sorry Dani. Being a bit stupid. What's a 'thing' only at the beginning?

lol . it's my english . sorry for that . .. it's a factor . you have to do a full lap to actually start a flyer .. but after you start a session . dont enter the pits every time . just use Shift+R . and start from there

You need at least half a lap of Nurb to bring your tyres up to optimum temperature. You tend to drive cautiously at the ring anyway which makes that process take longer, but on cold tyres the car will be extremely skittish anyway.
Tyre temperature is an often forgotten, but extremely important aspect. Your tyres don't wear per se, but driving too agressively will overheat them, and not driving agressively enough won't get enough heat into them. Optimum seems to be 190-205 degrees. (they're always 72 degrees cold) |

BTW, I think I did my sums wrong, so I think there only 20 points between me and Pirenzo. That means, to equal you I have to score 17 points at Albi and 3 more points than you at Snetterton... Hmm, win and Pole maybe?

TRainer
I thought the whole point with the ring trainer was that you could deposit yourself at around 6 different points of the lap, that way you could either practice say the last section without having to do 7 minutes of driving to get there. My point was that after loading the trainer, i get deposited in the pits whichever section I choose to strat from.
Yours confusingly, Scott |

Did you copy the special track.ini over?
All it does is alter this line, found under [ pit_lane_0 ] in \gpl\tracks\nurburg\track.ini stall_0 = 230.00 -9.30, which you can do manually. 230.00 is the distance along the track, -9.30 is the horizontal displacement from the centreline (beware that leaving it at -9.30 could mean the car getting put outside the drivable area, causing the game to crash) |

I copied it over and removed the old one after renaming it and saving it elsewhere. I'll give it another go later. Thanks anyway William.

Can some Momo Force user tell me:
a) what drivers are they using; b) the joystick values in the core.ini; c) the config values (FFb, etc) on the logitech program. I'm asking for this info because I stupiddly replaced my momo force for the driving force pro and got noew drivers and changed all the values (so much for keeping bacjups)... Now that i'm not going to sell the momo after all, I'm stuck with a very very strange FFb-wheel....... |

Currently using the stock drivers from the disk.
My core.ini values are 0.085 latency, 55 damping and 314 torque. (that's quite 'soft', I don't like lots of force, just enough to feel) Wingman profile is as below, but I leave the program itself switched off so I have no idea if they still have an effect, all I know is the wheel feels much better with it closed. Effects Strength : 83% Spring : 2% Damping 22% centering spring enabled but set at 0% |

I'll be missing that one as well Pete (GBGPL) as I'm off to play golf in Dublin for a few days. I had a good race with Div2 at Roeun. I think I came 7th overall.
Just gone negative at Kyalami. Only by a tenth. It was more difficult than I imagined getting the last 0.5 sec. After fiddling with the gear spacing it seemed to do the trick. Still using the 85/65 diff at the moment. Roeun is next on my list as I'm about 0.5 seconds off there at the moment. Oh, back on topic. The BRM isn't very quick at Snetterton in my hands. The hairdryer engine noise is doing my head in. Scott |

I'd love to be there tonight in my Eagle, but it's looking increasingly unlikely. Unless there is an upturn in fortunes, time and everything else, I probably won't be at Albi either.......

Congratulations for Pirenzo, who deserved to win this championship. Congratulations also for Richard who, in "that" car, won the race at Snetterton
BTW: As i'm not in the hunt of the championship anymore, I won't race at Albi, Sorry guys, but having two important races in the same night is just a little bit too much for me.... |

Well, Spud needs to confirm the results first, but I hope that will be a formality, just like pretty much all the other races have been
Well, I'm afraid that might have been my final TTFRL race for the foreseeable future, but its been terrific fun, I'm just glad I could actually win the thing at last. 35 starts, and 10 wins I've had, I don't know why that seems so important to be honest but I'm oddly proud of it lol |
