At this point Porsche are just showing off. That's near enough 4 seconds off the (huge diesel with the huge turbos) 908 lap time, right? In only a few years of hybrid drivetrains the rate of development has been extraordinary.
Edit - There's going to be some fun press releases when the 919 puts in one-off fast laps that qualify it in the middle of the F1 grid. |

Hey, everyone! I'm new here (I registered a year or so ago and just remembered it, haha), and I'm a huge Porsche fan! It's been a long wait, but I'm happy that the cars are back on track, even if it's just the prologue!

I read in the TS040 discussion that Porsche did around 26,000+ km in testing before today. Is that right?!

So from what I can make sense of, the Porkies are faster over one lap, but the Audi's seem to holding a quicker average lap? Anyone else get that thought or any others?
EDIT: Bear in mind I am not a smart man. Make of that what you will |

I originally thought there were just two sessions on the Friday, but obviously I was wrong and there are three…
1:37.2WOW. Last year’s best time was 1:41.3 I would not have predicted a four second improvement… I'm at work, so I an only able to check in on the headline times. Audi is close and if they are keeping a more consistent pace, then they may be in a very strong position. |

It is difficult to say. All the cars have been in the 1:40-1:42 range. Toyota are definitely sandbagging though.

Wicked fast times. I think they would have been close to 1:38's by the end of last year, they learned so much over last season. Going to be in the same time bracket at Silverstone I reckon. Hope the ACO keeps their hands off the cars with this pace being shown.
