f with an angry Coulthard declaring he's a "scapegoat".

https://www.speedcafe.com/2018/11/16...rders-rule/The ruling currently states;

“D24.1 Team Orders

“24.1.1 Means an instruction to a Driver or Team member, either verbal or otherwise the effect of which may interfere with a race result.

“24.1.2 It is not permitted for any sponsor, supplier, entity or related entity, including an Automobile manufacturer, importer or their representative to impose or seek to impose Team orders, on any Team.”

However, Speedcafe.com has since sought clarification which has resulted in the championship confirming that the rules were amended prior to the start of the season.

The wording of last year’s 24.1.2 rule included the word ‘team’ among the parties that are restricted from giving team orders.

As a result, Triple Eight’s actions at Pukekohe were not in breach of regulations with Supercars confirming that “these parties (in Rule 24.1.2) do not include Teams or Drivers giving or receiving instructions within their own Teams.”

The ruling was originally constructed to stop teams ganging up on each other which was particularly prevalent during the peak of the Ford and Holden rivalry.

Is your tinfoil hat on a bit tight?

Just for Peter Adderton: the driver your forced out came second, and the team you left came 3rd and 8th.

Your "super team" of youth came 12th & 13th, and your star signing Richie Stanaway showed what a peanut he really is.

"slow down, slow down, use extreme caution..." funnily enough they didn't seem too concerned about the safety of the car running second racing away in front?

So they are having a good look at the race engines. interesting - I can't recall this happening in the past?

Its not like Penske teams are known for their high standards of playing outside the rules on occasion.....

Engines are regularly pulled down & checked - plus normal practice after Bathurst.

Barry Ryan feels DJRTP significantly altered the race and that they should be excluded as a team from the event to "set a precedent"

One does wonder what PitSmart says.

Do we really want to go down this "altered the race" path? Jesus, good luck writing coherent, simple rules for that. How do you define altered? Everything alters something...

For example, sending a clearly incapacitated driver (say.. fatigued legs) out for a big stint alters the race - other drivers have to deal with his slow pace, saftey car might have to come out if he ends up in the wall etc.

They did penalise everyone elses race (bar one) by 46sec. That can't be allowed.

These are Supercars fans discussing this-you were expecting level heads? Lol

I can’t believe how many people have fallen for that idiot James Phelps and his suggestion the win may be in doubt. The McLaughlin Premat car did nothing wrong so I can’t see any precedent for them being stripped of the win.

There’s a possibility for the team copping a penalty but that’s about it.

Oh and engine checks aren’t that odd either. I would think that it’d be a common occurrence for the top three after the biggest race regardless of what happened in the race.

Cmon Tenthers I thought you were smarter then this. This ain’t the cesspool that is the Speedcafe comments section.

Like I asked, Singapore 2008 F1 GP.
The result still stands after all that went on.

Scott/Alex will keep the win and rightfully so.

Surely this is the most unsportsmanlike act ever seen in Australian motorsport? The 4 wheeled version of Trevor Chappel. DJR should be stripped of the win and given a holiday for a few meetings. Disgusting behaviour and I don't give damn who won or could have, I'm not a V8 Kit car fan at all so no vested interest here.

*Plot twist*

Scott's lap time is the more controversial but Supercars implicitly allow that kind of "safety".

Since there was a poll for winner predictions on this thread, I think this contribution requires a special award. Maybe a nail in a plinth with something hitting it squarely on the head.

I'm struggling to see the difference between Bryce's and Scott's laps from a safety perspective - not sure the <2% difference is such that one driver gets penalized but not the other...
