You know I had been strongly in favor of this move in order to get the "everybody wins" mentality reduced a bit, but after reading this piece of **** line here I'm glad they did nothing.

Glad this didn't happen. With the correct use of a young driver P2 teams can effectively be all pro anyway.

6 classes, 18 podium finishers from 55 entries isnt so bad, but it is when there is only 4 or 5 lmp2's in the wec. The 'loser' would be the one team that finished 3rd

Nissan putting another GT Academy guy in an LMP2 which is good to see.

Miguel Faisca getting a ride with Greaves in the ELMS at Estoril.

18 podium places would mean that 32,7% of the starters in world's biggest motor race would end up in top 3

Something tells me that the Volkswagen Group are bringing back Bentley to top-class prototype racing...

I hope they shot it down because even though it's a nice thing to have that British marque racing in LMP1, it's already crowded at this point for VW Group, apart from sweeping podium finishes for the group with Audi and Porsche!

I'm just speculating judging from CEO Wolfgang Durheimer's comments in the DSC article.

Sure that he wants Bentley to win overall, but going beyond their Continental GT program would take its toll unless the Volkswagen Group support it.

If Bentley returns to top-class prototype racing, that would push those privateers away.

Hankook Bidding For WEC/ACO Contract

This probably deserves a mention somewhere. Besides being a cost saving measure, running a spec tyre in GTE Am would be a fairly easy way to create a performance difference between Pro and Am. I don't like spec tyre formulae but the whole class runs on Michelins at the moment anyway.

I strongly dislike Spec Tires in the top pro categories, but have no issues with them in Pro-Am categories. They "should" even out the playing fields for the Am's, and "should" control costs, which are positives for such categories. In the end, I don't think many fans care too much about the Am categories anyway, for it to make a difference, they are mostly field filler. (No disrespect to such drivers living a dream, heck I would too if I could afford it).

Just hoping that the Ford GT has that modern, but classic styling... Also, don't forget to have two engine options too if they want either a EcoBoost V8 or a Roush V8!
