It's good to see that it's going that way now isn't it? I wonder how Rotek are getting on with their preparation?

Russian ETCC driver Nikolay Karamyshev will race in WTCC in Porto & Moscow in a SEAT. Although his team is not unvieled, I guess it's Campos and he will replace Igor Skuz who was about to drive for the team in these events.

Good news it's one of the histories when ETCC leads drivers to WTCC

What about SEAT hinting at a possible WTCC return?

Thats the look all WTCC cars should have in my opinion, while ETCC could use cars of the current S2000 configuration.

That SEAT does look stunning. Would be great to see such a series in the UK, because the BTCC support package is pretty limp at present (Clio's aside - which are nearly always superb).

Clios are fun, Ginetta GTs are fun, FFord, Porsche and Juniors are a bit naff.

I counted about 8 FFord cars finishing on Sunday. It doesn't look good. The Junoirs, I think just need a bigger entry. A few years ago they had a 20+ entry and the racing was superb. However the entry now is something like 12-13?

Something like that. The Thruxton Porsche entry was only 9 though too! That's just ridiculous really...

One thing though, that SEAT cup car has a price tag of €70,000. That's quite high, though not as high as some series, for say an F3 car, or a F2 car etc.

Must be similar to what the Seat Supercup car was worth in 2006/7 or whenever...

When I saw this new SEAT I was wondering if the 2014 WTCC cars will look like this.

Taking into the account wider wheel arches, bigger rear wing I'd say it really shows the possible look of the future WTCC cars. I hope Hondas, Ladas, hopefully Citorens and Renaults will look same agressive.

Menu looking at 2014.

Plus mentions Renault, Citroën and Subaru as rumoured entries.
(Renault and Citroën I get, but that Subaru rumour has been around for a few years now and it seems to pop up every now and then.)

If I was a manufacturer who considered entering the WTCC, I would choose a few younger drivers from F3 or national championships, not just 40 year-olds.

As I said there at TCT, I would merge the WTCC Super 2000 cars into the European races. Then Asian Super 2000 cars would fill the grid in Asian rounds, the Argentine (non-Super) TC2000 in Argentina, and something in Brazil and the United States.

Nikolay Karamyshev has finalised a two-round World Touring Car Championship deal with the Campos SEAT squad. AUTOSPORT revealed earlier this month that the Russian driver was in line to race in two of the events Hugo Valente is missing.
Karamyshev will make his debut in his home round at Moscow in a fortnight and stay on for the subsequent Porto street races.

On August 4, the WTCC will trace at Termas de RÃ*o Hondo, Santiago del Estero province, Argentina. It's been set with the different Argentine organizations.

The support series will be the Argentine Turismo Nacional (apat.org.ar), which features drivers such as Guillermo Ortelli, Carlos Okulovich, Mauro Giallombardo, Fabián Yannantuoni, Emanuel Moriatis and Esteban Tuero.
