I'm guessing BMW. Complete guess, based upon that bite from Estoril, the fact that their GT engine is well suited to the transfer and maybe that MarcVdS running ELMS this weekend. Although that latter one is admittedly a bit loose.

I'd say Ferrari with SMP's new LMP2 for 2015

BMW already has a LMP2 engine. Its a 3L inline 6 with 3 turbochargers. But guess what ? its a diesel and the ACO does not want to have a diesel in LMP2.

They were illegal, then legal for Mazda. but they never showed up, so they're illegal again right now.

Pretty confusing, because iirc for a while pre-cost cap regs it was also banned... then not, and now again.

3 race endurance series in South Africa with LMP1, LMP2, GTE plus saloons, GT and sports prototypes allowed to race. Long term goal is for a WEC race in South Africa Hope this takes off and interesting that the final round is the return of the Kyalami 9 hours |

It would be a feather in the WEC's cap though if it went to Africa. |

What the article fails to mention is that this launch comes with very confusing timing, seeing as their latest 3h event at Midvaal with same basic ruleset was forced to be cancelled due to lack of entries. Anyway, this is good news indeed on resurrecting the 9 hours as well as establishing sportscar racing in (South) Africa. And their acceptance of full array of ACO cars is always welcome (no 'everybody can win this due to our handicaps' in the brochure here), even if no one really enters. It's the thought that counts
As for WEC, even with Porsche now behind they will not step into Kyalami until they've replaced the crowd stands with gigantic VIP facilities for corporate guests, poured down asphalt to every runoff area, denied entrance from any of the local entries to keep up with the artificial 32-34 gap, changed the track status from Grade 2 to Grade 1 and replace the 9 hour distance to generic six hours. So no going there Last edited by Deleted; 22 Oct 2014 at 15:53. |

Still, I won't be surprised if WEC will host a 6-hour race in Kyalami... |

Spanish AS (iirc, not the most trustable source in F1 news) says Porsche has offered a one-off 24 deal for Alonso and McLaren could allow it.

Some interesting news today on Midweek Motorsport from Matt Griffin. When I heard all these GTD teams were looking at GTE-Am I thought it was wishful thinking but if I heard correctly he indicated GTE is the same budget for a season in WEC as GTD in TUSC! GTLM is approx 15% more than a season in GTE as well.
