Hahaha. That's very encouraging to hear! Thye have said that there were no brain or spinal cord injuries which most likely means Tim will be fine. The fact that he remembered Joerg having to race at Laguna....Says it all doesn't it?

The story almost sounds like Rocky II, when Adrian told Rocky to win his bout against Apollo. Of course it's a good thing when I can make fun about that, and I hope for a quick recovery for Tim.

Brilliant news, good on Tim! I wish him a speedy recovery, can't believe he's improved that much so quickly
JAF need to take a good hard look at GT300 and decide what the hell they want to do with it because it's a half-a*sed mess out there in terms of regulations and that the current situation is pretty much going to lead to the death of GT300 cars. Everyone's said it, if you can spend significantly less and get equal peformance, well, it is what it is. |

gt300 has always been a messed regulations class also before gt3 entry...
just look to some year ago before... GT1 cars (murcielago RG1) vs GT3 cars (gallardo RG3, mosler MT900R) vs GT2 cars (997 RSR and 430GT) vs modified GT2 cars (jim gainer 360, various modified 996) vs modified DP cars (shiden) vs heavy tuned road cars (vemac, ford GT) vs JF-300 prototypes (garaya, is350, 350z) and other (rx-7, MT900M) that i don't know how to classify... |

I wouldn't call it a mess, just different! At least the vehicles. Hopefully they'll get it sorted out and we see cars like the BRZ do good in future rounds.

ok, but the competition was however driven by the JAF... until the end of 2010 in GT300 the prototypes were clearly advantaged, the GT1/2/3 cars were able to do some good race but never had a clear chance to the title. Last year instead the championship victory was between the jim gainer 458 GTC against GST z4 GT3, as first sign of the transition process that the competition is going on.

You couldnt make that up could you? Wow. Thats so brave of him, he has FOURTEEN broken ribs (sheesh) and the first thing he does is tell his brother to sod off and go racing. Great to hear he's on the mend albeit slowly.

APR Prius (#31) does not equip hybrid system in Sepang round.
The export restrictions of Li-ion battery are reasons. http://as-web.jp/news/info.php?c_id=2&no=40999 |

Since the export regulations of hazardous materials exist in Japan, Li-ion battery cannot be transported to Malaysia. Autosport says that special transportation method is required. So they will run without the hybrid power, but lesser weight? And the values you give, are they for ballast added to cars? If they run at described weight they are able to run with described restrictor size?

Say Japanese Samurai... I know this is off-topic but is there a rumor of the JAF and/or GT-A, planning of a revival of the 24 hour endurance race at Tokachi in the near future? The last time held there was in 2008.

I'd put a question mark on the reliability of the cars, I don't think these 'prototype' GT's have ever run that long. The longest race they run/ran in is the Suzuka 1000km right? That's around 6 hours. Plus the big draw for the Tokachi 24 is that amateurs can enter, it's more of a participation formula. I don't think there would be enough interest or viability in promoting a 24 hour race.

beyond reliability, how much will be expensive for the teams a 24H race?

Using 1/2 (or 2/6) of the time it took to stage a race over a 24 Hours race will definitely save money as well as bringing excitement to an endurance race. |

12 is something I'd love to see. Unfortunately, I think it's quite unlikely for the foreseeable future, money and interest will be the issues. Not to mention that I doubt the FIA would be very impressed with a race directly competing against one of their events, the Fuji round of the WEC.

I don't think these cars would have a problem doing a 12hour event. Their engines are all proven to be reliable enough in endurance. They, in some form, have taken part in endurance style racing before. That HSV I think is the most beautiful SuperGT car I've seen.
