That third manufacturer being BMW is minimum doubtfull, i don't see a V8 in a Z4 running the wec, unless that was an M3.

This isn't speculation but i feel this is the best place for this information.

Bentley had been interested in going GTE rather than GT3 but didnt because the costs of developing the car and selling homologation specials pushed the costs up into Audi prototype levels.

I was surprised at the level of costs involved in developing and getting homologated a GTE car.

The information comes from Racetech magazine November issue which has an article on Bentleys GT3.

New manufacturer wouldn't be McLaren, they will start developing the MP4-12C and maybe a race or two, by the end of 2013, but no way a full season.

Can anyone help?

Late last year I thought I heard/read that ACO were changing, or had changed/dropped the minimum production numbers for GTE homologation. I cant find it now. Was I dreaming?

Yes, sold is the right word. We're customer teams of Porsche, so we purchased the cars (another reason why it's not that easy to make a two car team magically appear).

Porsche made 7 or 8 of the current 2012 GT3 RSR worldwide. Porsche keeps one or two of those models for the purpose of testing at their facility in Weissach, and the rest are sold to GT teams. I thought there are more. But perhaps those are not 2012 models, but just upgraded 2011 or even 2010 models??

In a recent interview to Autocar magazine, Jaguar Boss Adrian Hallmark said:

If they don't want to do P1 then new regs GTE makes most sense for Jaguar.

They have to be racing at Le Mans in my opinion.
