Perhaps they use the gummy mold lubricants in the engine bay....And have integrated a snacks bottle.

Some say Haribo actually supply those Pirelli-badged tires to a well-known single-seater series.

Dumas was beaten to the Pikes Peak crown by only two hundredths of a second by Rhys Millen in a Hyundai. The thing is Dumas time was set in less favourable weather conditions before Millen went on his run.

www.speedcafe.com.au has reported this
Quote:
Rookie Dumas had been the favourite for victory, but left the event vowing not to return due to the class-based running order which had allowed his rival to complete his run in significantly better conditions.
Dont know how much of that is true, havent seen that reported anywhere else.

I wish Dumas had've won to be honest

Dumas run was marred by hail and heavy rain for the last 1/3rd of the course, Millen had sun all the way.

Through out the event Millen's Hyundai was faster than the Porsche. It wasn't just on the final time setting day.

He was beaten by .02s and if the reports about the weather at the top are even 10% correct then that is worth much more than two hundredths.

Also the more pics I see of that car the more I fall in love with it... such an aggressive front and great color combo with the wheels/grey paint.

Dumas will be driving the GT3-R he ran at Pikes Peak in the GT Race at Macau, minus the body kit they added for pikes peak.

Good to hear. Dumas is a man of many talents

Speaking of the bodykit, I was wondering during the week what else had been done to the car for Pikes Peak for example, did it run without air restrictors?

I would assume so. I know that they inserted a rally type gearbox.

Beginning at Silverstone, the wide-body Porsche can compete with a 0.7 mm larger air restrictor, a reduced weight of 1210 kg, a 75 mm larger front splitter and revised rear wing placement. The changes are similar to those instated on the ALMS Porsches from Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca in May.
As we hear love our daily BOP the plot just gets ever thicker
This car will have an RS Spyder V8 before the season is out .

I can't wait for the new Porsche. The BOP of this older model is kind of embarassing. Out with the old , in with the new!!

I'd rather they give them breaks and have an actual contended race in GTE than some walk by Ferrari.

As much as people whinge about BoP I'm not against it, when it works it works brilliantly and some of the racing we've seen in the last 2-3 years has been brilliant. I'm just expecting them to butcher it completely sometime soon...
