de Beaufort should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
With the confirmation of Porteiro and Tanev at Proteam the entrylist is nearly completed. Just a few questionmarks:
What about the second Wiechers car? Any hot gossips going around? Proteam mentioned something about a third car, although this could be only for the European races to keep the costs down.
With the official deadline to enter the championship now being closed and with Porteiro at Proteam the Campos effort to run the Hondas is now looking more and more unlikely to happen.
Furthermore, am I the only one who is wondering why nobody came up with the idea of running the ex works Lacettis in the WTCC? Last year these cars were championship contenders longer than Priaulx' BMW. Above all with the new weight regulations running these cars might give you an occasional outright win and a good shot at the independents title.

no idea about Wiechers. But I think Proteam's thrid car would be full season as Porteiro's cv is too good for both Independents and team's trophy.

Pair of 08 Lacetti has sold to Vaulkhard. The remaining one may be go to Campanico....

Chevrolet Motorsport Denmark has not taken up their option on the two ex-works LacettiĀ“s. So there are still two 2008 cars up for grabs..

Wiechers will only field one full-season car (D'Aste), second car possible for guest drivers.

http://www.motorsport-total.com/wtcc..._09021801.html

I think we have 24 officially confirmed. Waiting for Borusan Otomotiv, Exagon, Campos and a third Proteam BMW, maybe at least one of them will show up at Curitiba.

There will be no third Proteam BMW in Curitiba. Only two cars have been shipped. Driving duties for a third car should be divided between Vito Postiglione and Duncan Huisman, but this is only a rumour. Should the 3rd car actually go on track, it will be in the European events, though.
Exagon should not take part in this year's championship, Corthals has pulled out and there has been no indication of a new driver taking his place.
Borusan should put Okyay in, I'm not sure about a second car but rumours say it could be possible.
Still no news from Campos after the Porteiro interview Stopandgo.tv has had. As we all know, thigs went quite differently in the weeks to follow, which means we're not sure anymore about Campos' Hondas presence on the grid.

Read the article again. He plans to race full season SEAT Eurocup in 2009. It's the writer of the article who links Tim to WTCC. Tim doesn't mention WTCC.

Not in terms of looks no In terms of speed Tom always slightly had the edge over his brother.

Fun fact btw about the 2: As Tom Sr. is a car nut he named his sons Tim Alfa and Tom Romeo Coronel

In a way the article is correct. Tim is on his way to join the Eurocup. If he does well he will get a prize drive in the WTCC. Would be nice to see them both in the WTCC.

The Lada looks goofy without the rear wing, and awesome with it.

Campus wont race any Honda Accords 2009!? The two cars are still located in Cremona/Italy. The Accords are still declared for sale. 180.000 € each car including material and 2009 Specs.

With the crisis in mind an impressive grid

Former BMW factory driver in the Campos car (Garcia drove for Campos' team in single seaters). That's a surprise but first than believe (I mean the Campos car, not Garcia driving for Campos).

Garcia is a great driver, would love to see him in action again. The entry though is indeed one of the 'first-see-then-believe' kind.

If the Campos-Garcia combination is going to work out, it’s going to be very interesting year for Antonio. Win at Daytona at the begining, then a deal with Corvette Racing for the biggest sports car events of the year, and finaly come back in WTCC.
