The TCR rules are really the future, that's clear to me. What are the the manufacturers for next year? Surely Honda, Seat, VW, Opel, Subaru, Ford, and hopefully Alfa, but how many more will there be? It really looks like TCR races can just be as exciting as the early WTCC days!!

Well if there was SEAT Leon vs BMW 320si in old days of WTCC i think there's nothing wrong in Subaru WRX STi vs Jaguar XE. Both have 2.0 engine similar horsepower and prices are similar. Both are around 40.000 Euros. It would be nice if some car in this championship have RWD.

The question with this particular car is not who is driving but whether it will ever run cleanly

I actually think that Focus is finally getting somewhere now FRD is working on it. Slowly it gets faster and more reliable.

Maybe it will but even if they succeed can they provide a global customer program? I doubt.

TCR seems a nice idea for national championships.

Really can't understand that - with the Lamborghini GT3 program done and dusted they really don't have any big projects anymore. A handful of GT4-KTMs will not keep the shop open for long.

Correct me if I am wrong but this year Reiter introduced an updated version of the Gallardo. So next 2 or 3 years they are still selling new cars. Of course the factory project is a big rival and will probably mean no Reiter Lambo after the Gallardo.

Or from the 70(!) orders for Opel Astras that Kiesling/Opel have received so far, for that matter. If you are in the business of building customer racing cars and not doing a TCR right now, you're doing it wrong. There are only so many models that fit the category and some of them will be unavailable because they are done in-house, so if you wanna get a piece of that market you better do it now. |

TCR International Series

I agree with everything you say, except for this quoted bit. The C-segment TCR is aiming at is one of the biggest segments out there, there will always be plenty of models available. And if the big brands run out there are plenty of smaller brands available. |
