Great news. Lister have confirmed they will be building a new LMP1 car, built to the new 2004 regs. It will use the mechanicals of the current car.

They also want to expand there LMP program and sell customer cars, when the car is race proven.

As far as I know, yes, as an Hybrid one.

But for the technical questions, Mike, Graham or Cy are much more qualified than me ! Tim should be able to answer too

You say as a Hybrid. Do you mean like the Nasamax, i.e. total rebuild to the full 2004 regs., or just an LMP900 with the smaller wing and fual tank?

Dont forget LMP 900 cars will be running with 2003 restrictors too, just the same as the LMP 675 class cars, LMP 1 class cars and LMP 2, and GTS and GT machinery will run with 2002 restrictors, regular rear wings and LMP 1 and LMP 2 90 litre fuel tanks, GTS and GT will run with 100 litre fuel tanks.

Yeh thats right. I'm wondering if the Pescarolo 'upgrade' is just a refinemnt of the current 2003 spec chassis like the Lister.

Lister are also designing a new generation LMP1 car to the new regs.

I wonder if Pescarolo would consider building a new car himself, or rely on Courage building him one again.

Is De Cortanze still at Pesca. Does he not have plans to design his own car to the new regs in 2005/6, rather than modifying any Courage that may be built.

How about De Cortamz designing the any new Courage LMP1 car?

It would seem a shame to waste his talents.

Yep !

For JAG : yes André de Cortanze is still in the Pescarolo Team. The Hybrid is a mix of the last year car and the new regs. And I've no idea of the Pescarolo plans to build a brand new car, but I doubt of it (€).

I don't see De Cortanze joining Courage : they have their own designers here.

But, beeing not a specialist, it could be better to have the opinion of some french members like sportproto, BernardB, PascalLM or courage (the TT's member, not Yves). They're usualy well informed.

This weeks Motorsport news newspaper reports that Labre competition will field a single Ferrari 550 in the LMES this year, Christophe Bouchet is in the frame for one of the seats.

If the Panoz thing goes ahead just LM and Sebring, leaving Labre free for LMES.

Or perhaps there is the possibilty of Labre running 2 cars in the LMES? The Panoz in GTP and the Ferrari in GTS...

The quotes from the drivers are enjoyable to read...

I don't know if I'm all that wild about the car in blue, but I do like the chasis itself and the package as a whole...

They will be in the hunt during the LMES season...no doubt about it...

BTW, paul-collins...

Thanks for the confirmation on which Panoz Larbre will be possibly running at Sebring and LM...

I've asked that question three times on the thread that actually addresses that issue, only to have the responses run around the issue and talk about the GT, or how many Panoz models there are in racing, etc...

I'm looking forward to seeing the GTR-1 at Sebring....if this news is true...

I haven't seen the car turn up on the entry list on the IMSA site yet...

But DSC is a good, solid source of sportscar news....

Thanks!

Another LMP2 entry?

Tampolli have long competed in the ISRS/SRWC/SCC. I'm afraid I don't have a link to a picture, though.
