Thundersports should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid

I feel engines should be open within reason, for example it is impossible to get a Mugen Honda so say a Jordan or Lotus could run a Judd instead of ruling them off the grid. F3000 cars with say Cosworth YB engines should be welcome, but if a Carlos Fandango car which is highly modified etc I think should be excluded.

That sounds like a pretty nice plan, it would be interesting to see it materialise some day... Would old Roger Cowman be interested in creating a national series again with perhaps a foray into Spa and a shared UK British Open Single Seater/BOSS GP round? Now THAT would be a Superprix!

Apparently the DSSS is just there so that they can race whatever they want...
For example the contemporary F1 cars, like the HRT, can't race in an FIA sanctioned series, but can run in 'club events'.

Similar to the RBR SuperPrix event where BOSS GP teams were 'invited'. Just gives them some breathing space...

Exactly what I heard, DSSS is an alter ego rather than a new creation... If that makes sense.

I know that they developped the car with a new diffusor and a Judd engine and so on. But didn't know that it's called Ascari monoposto.

As far as I know Zwart has been rebranding his cars, be it Benetton or Jaguar, as Ascaris for many years. A bit of a shame to hide the heritage and original liveries of these old F1 cars.

Whilst I'd prefer to see period liveries, if rebranding is necessary for him to promote his businesses which then permits him to buy and race these things, so be it. I'd rather see a rebranded one being raced and being able to see it and hear and feel the noise, than the other option of it being a static exhibit in a private collection.

The only car in a recognisable period livery was a Benetton.

I found some Dutch reports. 8 cars on the grid, 2 wins for van Kalmthout in the '97 Benetton.

Dutch Super Single Seater Series - Zandvoort
Qualifying report
Race 1 report
Race 2 report

Full results from the earlier Zolder event can be found here (thanks to Valker for posting the earlier link)

To speak to the obvious, BOSS GP met some difficulties as an international series. The move to a Dutch mini-series seemed to be a way to save the 2013 season. With Signature's recent involvement with GP2s, and possibly HRT with F1s, the interest remains though.

There's now a countdown clock on the website, which is supposedly counting down to a repackaging of the website. 22 days left on the countdown.

Even if you got the Sauber running it would be a hopeless also ran in the series which is now as predicted by myself and "driftwood" a grid of old GP2/WSR cars.
