Back on topic....
Alex Macdowall is testing more RWD machinery today following on from the Super GT car, NGTC BMW 125i and Ginetta G55: this time a Nissan Nismo GTR GT3 car in the Algarve circuit. Looking increasingly likely that he will be taking part in a different series for 2014. |

why wtcc does not organize a test sessions more or less as f1? all together on the same track to test the cars for 3/4 days.
in this way we could avoid that big teams like citroen could take too much advantages and it would be possible to keep the costs under control after that they already increased with the new regulaments. |

One of the big costs in F1 testing are the limited number of licences tracks that can be used and the requirements for full marshalling and medical evacuation. For a tin-top series this is not required and so the cost of testing is relatively less. |

Furthermore, I heard that a collective manufacturer test (for all 3 factory teams - Honda, Citroen and Lada) is planned in February. This is really good as it at least somehow plays down track rent costs

Sorry to get back to this so late, but yes indeed it was meant as a compliment. Nothing wrong with being a bit of a character - even if in some cases you aren't to everyone's taste.

There are some very big and very popular names in that list. If they TC1 regs prove to create decent cars/racing it could be a very good season for WTCC.
Now they just need to not make any fundamental management, organisational or logistical mistakes that overshadow the season. |

Now, I'm a little afraid of new specification. May be it kills the beauty of WTCC, but We will see, The names on the list probably makes the series more popular and competitive

According to german newspaper "Motorsport aktuell", Franz Engstler will drive a 320TC in the TC2-class.
A second one will be fielded too, but no driver until now. Wiechers Sport goes for TC2-class too (with BMW 320TC), but not with Freddy Barth (involved in swiss GT3-project) |

Would be great if Wiechers and Engstler will stay in WTCC. One year TC2 and then move up to TC1.

TC2 is going to be a bit of a joke this year isn't it?
TC1 cars look interesting but I fear Citroen are just going to blow everyone away. |

even if i dont like that btcc allow to whatever model to partecipate i have to admit that they found the right way to increase the number of cars but most important they have been able to make race the best drivers and not taxi drivers full of money like it happens in the wtcc now!!!
GIOVANARDI, MENU, PLATO, NEAL, TURKINGTON, SHEDDEN and JORDAN are great drivers!! wtcc organizators when will understand that it's very important to keep the low costs because in this way it will be possible to see much more cars and specially it will be possible to see again the legends drivers who made this category beautifull! |

Don't fuuly agree. IMO, the championship needs young drivers more. Giovanardi, Menu etc. are already in their 40-s/50-s and they just can't race forever while right now there is time to raise some new future stars
