I wouldn't include Neal, it's a paid drive, so could only loosely call it owning and running your own car. So with Boardley, Moffat, Morgan and Jelley, I can't think of any others. Simpson would have been the only other, but he isn't on the grid this year.

On the subject of Plato's cars, I wonder if he still has that Laguna.

Neal has probably got a lot of backing from that ride and probably so does Cammish too, they have quite a bit of support from Honda, hope it continues. I am interested by the others mentioned. Obviously Boardley bought his own BMW and has HARD to help run it for him as a team. Moffat has his own team with Sutton joining, hopefully they can run it well now. Morgan yes he's pretty much always run his own car and will do again. I wonder how much of Jelley's car TPR contribute, probably more than it appears. Can't think of who else either

Shame Simpson won't be on the grid this season btw, would have loved to see him back, even not permanently. Just need a few more cars for me at some points of the season

Not sure if Plato still has the Laguna, has he sold it? Didn't someone use it as a BBQ?

Was Butel linked to the seat before? Rowbottom has done alright, but I think Butel has it in him to do a very good job for the team, he seems quite a talent

That's a lot better than I was expecting - especially in the support classes, I thought we might have some very thin grids.

So its the btcc game. Developed by a complete rubbish games producer. Amazing....no surprises there. The fact they list possibly THE WORST racing game currently available as theirs (NASCAR HEat) says everything.

Motorsport games are the publisher not the developer. That being said I quite enjoyed the Nascar heat games. The support categories and team management aspect of Nascar heat would be perfect for a BTCC game in my opinion.

The drivers and most of the people that want a game want a sim. Not some arcade trash like nascar heat.

Want a sim then play rfactor, that have a fantastic BTCC mod. But the fact it's being published by the same company doesn't mean it's being developed by the same company. It's likely the physics will have nothing in common with Nascar and it may well be a sim title.

Not the point. Dan Cammish even made the first steps towards a game last year by approaching raceroom. Was quite successful to the point they even had the civic running in the game at autosport show this year.

Maybe I've jumped to conclusions too soon. This game could well end up on the rfactor engine anyway which would be perfect. More likely it will be built on the unreal engine though as its an easy engine to build upon for a new development team.

Yeah I see what your saying but I wouldn't compare this to Nascar heat, they were developed by 704games who have nothing to do with the new BTCC game as far as I'm aware. Unreal engine has proven to be a great engine for racing games as we've seen with ACC

Unreal engine is perfect for simulating pretty much all effects on a car. Only downside is its really hard to optimise. Look at ACC on console they capped it at 30fps so they didn't lose the graphical detail but it still runs below that. Also as great as it is on pc you still need a pretty special system to run it well.

I want it to be a hardcore sim just as much as the next ...person who wants that, but to suggest that we account for 'most of the people' is nonsense. I expect it will be as arcade as they come, to appeal to the kind of folks who like watching BTCC but can't tell you if their own car is front or rear-wheel drive and think a 5 lap race is a bit much (none of which I have any problem with, by the way).

Probably still gonna buy it, though.

With such a difference that he never wanted top drivers/teams disappearing from the entry list.

Ideally he needed those amateurs with the VWs to disappear.
