No more World Championship status and top-level touring cars are now slow.

In my opinion perfect touring car is something like old ST cars (old, before spoiler introduction). No too fast, but challenging for drivers). Why does newer cars need to be faster then last gen? Faster cars needs more aerodynamics, which brings more money spending, which makes privateers spending more money, and eventually loosing them, and why would manufacturers come? Look like every manufacturer now wants team in some electric championship...

I thinks it’s the only thing they can do, the TC1 has not been the step up the championship needed

Is there no option to formulate a TCR+? I saw a testing video of an TCR Astra which was running at 400bhp boost. Is there no way they could offer a slightly wider tyre, and bigger front splitter as an "upgrade" over a standard TCR car?

TCR is what a touring car championship should be today, the only thing i don't like is the paddle shift gearbox... |

I know, I was kidding I understand why people like it, but it's only sentimental. A sequential stick rather than a sequential paddle isn't cheaper, doesn't improve the show and doesn't ask for additional driver skills.

History shows time and time again that you can't run international series that have super expensive cars in either touring or sportscars

Bennani wins race 1 in Macau.
It took 7 laps until the red flag. |

I can't remember Macau ever being wet before, when was the last time that happened?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B7ocgddHwFQ heck the sound alone is pure awesomeness and race cars which still had the road car interior and anyone who claims that better brakes and higher corner speeds generate better racing must be completely insane , I never saw a single championship when this performance got better the racing actually improved see DTM racing from 88-89 and footage of 95-96 , it's no comparison at all , those Group A generated so much better racing than the insane silouttes which followed them |

and seriously is it so hard to figure the magic formula for touring cars out ?? simple study of history shows that for great racing and sustainable costs you need
- high base weight , 1200 KG at very least (so no crazy development in weight reduction ) - base road car should be at least 7.500 examples build (no homologation specials) - narrow tires - no aero gimmicks , - higher ground clearence (so a high CG for slower cornering) - steel brakes - ban all exotic materials like carbon fibre - no driving aids - mandatory H shifter - power levels at about 300 - 350 BHP or implenent weight adjustments for higher/lower levels and with narrow tires dissapears the need for those stupid arch extensions , so drivers can do some "rubbing" with much lower risk of puctures |

I personally want to see Volvo and Honda bring 4 cars each to Doha.
Muller in the 4th S60 and, Tarquini in the 4th Civic. Both manufacturers need to take points off their rivals, after all |

Well Monteiro is not coming back for Qatar, there's no point for him to nor for the team, and I want to see Tarquini in the third Honda - I want him to score some points despite not running a full season, as his results were DQ'ed.
