Yes, great to finally see a more dedicated announcement concerning this project, now it's time to show pics/videos of the car on track!
With Tony Ave and Doug Petterson doing the operating of the car I certainly don't expect any fireworks from the driving side of the project, Doug is the owner of 3D, Tony the co-constructor of the car. Both are Trans-Am veterans (and former champs!) but I think they'll get blown out of the water by a couple of the quicker youngsters in some of the Ligier armada. It'll all be about development for this car and team and for that experienced drivers are definitely a plus. But do they have any european racing experience at all? Anyway, this car is guaranteed a spot on the seasonal entry list. |

Perhaps they will both be great drivers and surprise us, who knows. And while I like the idea of showcasing your product to potential buyers, is this the best way? |

A 6th LMP3 constructor? Or a replacement for Ginetta?

Why a replacement for Ginetta ? Ginetta continue to produce an homologated LMP3 car |

They upped the limit from 4 to 5 so Dome could join after Ginetta bailed. Why can't they do this for P2 if someone else wants to build a car?

"In terms of quality of the car, we have moved on tremendously from the LMP3 car which had a tight budget. We found that a challenge from an engineering point of view. We’ve enjoyed being involved in LMP3, it’s been great fun, but this car is the next step for us." Lawrence Tomlinson, talking about the G57. |

Ginetta cashed in while they were the only lmp3 car around. Then the Ligier showed up...

Sure, it beat all but one Ginetta on it's debut, but the fact that it couldn't seal the deal tells me the two cars were pretty even - teams and drivers made the difference. |

I thought Ginetta were now building the car to go racing in places like VDV?
Didn't the Ligier have a single race, with an all Am team, against a basically works Ginetta team? The Ginetta will be long forgotten after the other cars arrive. They cashed in on being the first, not the best. |

Ligier had as good a driver line up, for the only race it attended due to their testing commitments.
"Ginetta cashed in "...???? There would be no LMP3 class if it hadn't been for GInetta. Neither Ligier or any manufacturer were prepared to build a car on the hope that the class would work when I contacted them in the middle of 2014. Unfortunately Ginetta's presence will be limited, but that is to do with Lawrence's spat with Oreca / ACO rather than the quality of the car. |

I think this Ginetta story could be really interesting when all the details come out one day...

Sure, Ginetta still has the P3, but then this was said (e.g. here) Quote:

You're making a lot of assumptions based on a single race. Many LMP3 teams seem to think that the Ligier is the car to have. I haven't heard of any teams buying Ginettas lately, but maybe just haven't paid attention.

Exactly right, Ginetta will still make LMP3s for customers, just bye bye to factory racing team. Just a co incidence that everyone decided Ligier is better despite only seeing one race |

The Ligier is a better product, better build quality and design decisions, there's no doubt about that. When you can purchase either for the same price, the choice becomes easy. The Ginetta may be as quick, but that's only half of what a team looks at when purchasing a product, they also have to consider how well it's put together and how easy it is to work on.
Nothing against Ginetta, they went with the quick development with compromises in order to cash in on a full season as the only party and they succeeded in that goal. |

Remember that a couple of teams were unhappy with the Ginetta too. It isn't just the fans asking why it's falling apart.

And the market has spoken: Of the 20 ELMS LMP3 entries, 19 are Ligiers and one is a Riley. No Ginettas.

Would be awful if CPB Sport's ADESS was rejected for another Onroak by the ACO.

LMP3 has only one engine option. The engine isn't the reason nobody is running the Ginetta. The reason is that Ginetta is done with LMP3.
