Big step back. Porsche loves him and is about to go back to back to top level prototype racing. He’s in good stead to have a crack at winning Le Mans outright. |

Who else is in the Red Bull program that may keep that brand sweet with a race seat?

If he's as good as Mr Rogers insists, he'd have won Super2, and matched Tander in the same equipment. Capable steerer; yes. But does he have the X Factor Mr Dane looks for? I don't think so. |

The career step is almost irrelevant compared to the very serious relationship he is enjoying in Germany...

No affiliation to Red Bull brand, and I'd say she's also quite happy to be in the Porsche fold.

I notice on the entry list for the Nurburgring 24 where international drivers listed the country they came from Matt listed Weissach.Sounds like he is pretty wedded to Porsche.

Similar situation to Campbell, Earl was even running a factory Porsche team at Bathurst 12hrs 2 years ago!
I think he is another they wish to retain. However will Penske have first say on drivers for the LM programme? If so a few Porsche top guns may not want to carry on with just GT work. |

Earl Bamber is not averse to the Triple Eight cockpit, as he told me in an interview.

If the replacement driver doesn't come from the exist supercars paddock, it would be unthinkable to hire a driver from outside the graduate system, as doing so would make a complete mockery of super2's existence.

Not really, it is a seat with the best team in the paddock. So it will go to the best driver. Super2 will continue to be source for drivers coming through, but unless they are exceptionally talented, its graduates tend to start their main game careers outside the big three teams.

Would Renee Gracie be a contender? It'd be interesting to see her in a good team, with good support and engineering.

Think she is more focussed in landing on pole in a different way.

"Renee Gracie has revealed she is planning a racing comeback, cashing in on her switch from Supercars driver to adult entertainer.[...] Now she says she has banked up enough funds to seriously consider returning to the track while continuing with her new career. But Gracie expects to take on the challenge for fun, understanding that her switch “ruffled some feathers” in the industry. She anticipates Supercars officials would be unlikely to approve a return to the Super2 development series or Supercars endurance races. “I don’t think they would want me back,” Gracie told News Corp. “The pressure I was under in the last couple of years was immense and I don’t really want to put myself through that. “I don’t need that pressure because I have a career outside racing now. I will be doing it for enjoyment and fun. “I have been watching the races and keeping up to date with it. “I want to do it again because now I can do it on my own and I can afford to enjoy it.”' |
