Some times you need to do a little 'photoshop' to get the best from your pictures, I hope you don't mind me having a go at your excellent pictures.

Thanks bauble, I had missed that step in my rush.
Here are some more pics. Great to see one of the iconic DJR Sierras on track; if you haven't heard the term 'drop tank' in relation to touring cars, here is an illustration of one; a very speedy Corvette; the battle at the front of the Group M & O field; the extreme profile of the JWF Milano GT2, powered by a Holden six; Group N touring cars including some battle scars. |

As the final Group N over 3-litre race progressed on Sunday afternoon, the final sweeping turn leading onto the main straight turned into a powersliding exhibition from the leading three Camaros. The crowd was very entertained!

Thanks John for all the trouble you’ve gone to in posting the pics! I struggle posting just a couple.....
We had a Milano Racing in the UK a few years ago, but haven’t seen it for a while. And am sure our Gerard will appreciate the Simca photo! |

Ooooh yes sure I do Mike! Thanks John for the nice pics (I already thanked E.B no worry). I wonder how it came to this driver's mind to race a V8 Simca and I can tell you that the Ford engine is very well prepared. If you can have a look to the cooling system, enjoy it, it was the main known flaw of this engine. Cured on this Beaulieu.
Mike, E.B said Iain had a good chat with the Escort owner and was allowed to take pics from the rear suspension. Is it a kind of twin Panhard rods I saw? |

It looks like the upper rod is a brace for the Panhard rod mount?
As for the Simca, the owner has been a life-long Simca nut. I imagine it is a bit simpler/cheaper to go racing when you are not continually searching for every last tenth. As a bonus, here is a shot of two Simcas on track at Historic Winton from 2017. |

E.B, profuse apologies for not thanking you for your pics as well. All the event photos make so much difference to those that weren’t there! |

Know what E.B? I hate you! You dont need so much humor just for yourself. In fact I hate you twice because you look far too young!
Probably of few interest for many here but a Simca Versailles, Beaulieu or Chambered same base, only interior/exterior trims differ) was may be comparable to a Westminster but less powerful and more room for six. Mike explained to me why a Westminster can be fast but this Simca… I seem to recall some engine blocks had two water pumps but some details like the gear change mounted on the steering column or a three speed gearbox are not sporty… Isn't the driver Portuguese (no pun no nothing here) ? |

If I remember well the Simca Aronde is blue, right? During one of the first race I was attending an Aronde rolled twice in the Montlhéry chicane. Chicane meant straw balls… Funny days!

Yes very good! Its what we call "une Aronde Ã* moustaches", previous model is said "ronde" and the last is a P60 with its whale type gril. I seem to remember that a "Ã* moustaches" was pictured in a Tintin album, may be the famous reporter is in a taxi near Léman lake. Affaire Tournesol may be?

Fantastic to see that even the wipers are converted from LHD to RHD.

1956-9 was CKD kits, albeit with plenty of local components, and 59-64 was full local manufacture in Adelaide at the Chrysler factory. (Gérard, I think a while ago I sent you pics of the unique to Australia locally made P60 Aronde 5 door Station Wagon?) |

Absolutely E.B, thanks again. Before you mentioned it I was totally unaware of this local making. And you know I've always been fascinated by Simca former boss and founder, Henri Pigozzi. He was granted Oscar de la publicité for the launch of the P60. The station wagon called sometimes Ranch here had three doors not five (3,5 in fact). If you look closely to various SW Aronde models they often differ in the arrangement of the spare wheel depending on the intended use, pro or not.
Just look at a coupé Plein-Ciel Grand Carrossier and you'll see the influence of the T-Bird. |

Mister Pigozzi wanted his wife to be seen driving a Simca. One day he offered her a black Simca 1000 with a kind of leopard trim. Panhard had a tiger trim in those days. Because she was snobby he asked to the engineers to invent a name for the trim other than plastic or skaï making believe it was a kind of leather! What love can lead you to do… sometimes!
This story has to be confirmed tho! |

Hey, isn't it a pic taken in France? I see Talbot Horizon and 4L. Re the winding rear window only one Renault 4 had one, certainly not the very exclusive Parisienne version. Another?

You're quite a warrior! Looks like a berline P60 modified Ã* la sauce Pichon Parat. Nice taste for the y-front you have I must admit!
Crocodile E.B! As to the same thing on 4L I found R4 Super '62/63. My memory is not good since I rolled a R3 six times adjusting my hair "cut"! I couldn't complain having no driving licence… |
