looked like the 24 and 48 were teaming up against jpm on that last restart.
48 slowed way down going to the green. jpm had to check up an then the teamates took off. glad for the wreck. will give jpm a chance to cool down. |

42 crew chief was being polite on tv.

So long as JPM doesn't wreck himself I have no problem with him tapping the 48!

Now we go. |

Another Top result for JPM, but now with JJ in the lead it's going to take that next step if he really wants to win.
EGR as a team are really doing a great job, just a shame the #1 Machine isn't up there helping like JJ's endless supply of teammates. |

Yeah, you despair at the end when it's JPM vs. 5, 24 & 48.
It's a good job Earnhardt Jr has become crap. |

After the initial disappointment... its still a great result for JPM... just need to make the next step and take it to victory lane!

Wow, this is a big turnout for a race thread (for this board). A few things:
-Elliott Sadler proves why he's a hack. I'd be real mad if I was Petty; taking out 10 cars; including ALL his teammates. -This is David Ragan's first top ten, and Michael Waltrip's first top 20 finish in a long time. -And **** **** ****!!!!!!! Jimmie's starting to walk away with this whole damn Chase thing. |

For me I've always followed the NASCAR threads to see what JPM was up to... hoping he'd make the chase last year... and now that he has made it this year... and seems to have found his feet... its kinda hard not to comment! Plus I was sitting at the laptop watching it cos it wasn't on Sky/Setanta/Any sports channel!
Quote:
Just watching him thru all the races in the chase so far and I was thinking that he has really matured as a driver... none of the panicking when hes not leading (or top 5) with 50 laps to go... its taken almost 3 years but its great to see that he has realised that you don't have to lead from lights to flag in nascar unlike other disciplines of motorsport. I think patience is the biggest lesson to learn for anyone else thinking of moving from F1/Indycars to Nascar! Anyway... go JPM go! |

How would it sit at Team Hendrick is the #5 pushed the #42 for the win over the #48? I would have to assume there would be "Team Orders" as such to try and work agaisnt JPM (If he is still their main rival) and push one another to victory lane. Im rather new to the NASCAR so correct me if im wrong? |

Teammates usually do work together at the RP tracks, or they make deals with other teams just to get to the front. The latter more likely, since it's hard to stay together there.

Much as I would love to see Montoya or Martin grab the trophy from under Jimmy's nose (I shifted my allegiance to Nascar from F1 cos I though it was less predictable...), I think it's going to need either a couple of wrecks or Knaus dropping the ball big time to prevent another #48 walk in the park.
Personally I would love to see Monty get it. I think he's really progressed as a driver this season, especially since he adopted the 'You try to wreck me, I WILL wreck you attitude'. I just don't want to see him do it without actually winning an oval race first. |

That #48 car sure was fast today, congrats to Jimmie - freak
Good drive again by Montoya & Gordon to keep him honest, though they really had no chance today... Spewing for Ambrose getting caught up in that wreck at the end, another top 10/15 finish was on the cards |

Another good result for John Paul Montana (I like that too ), unfortunately his main rivals don't make mistakes.

Well he gets us Europeans (more) interested. Actually it is good to see someone getting good and running with the #48, #24 and #5. He's a decent chap, not polished, a little daft, but not a prat (well not in a bad way).
Still he wasn't quite there. The sun ruined it and the experience an speed of JJ did it, again. The guy must be good. |
