On a positive note - I seriously hope that having made a bunch of mistakes over here that the fast boys will look good when they get home again!
That was the Luciano Burti story way back when. |

[today i witnessed the first TRS race at Taupo as part of a team.
The cars were released and 2 xmin pitlane closure announced. then 1x minute and finally pitlane closed with 1x car left in pitlane. car proceeds to pitlane exit and released ,then told by race radio that car must return to pitlane for race start.car is being pushed back into pitlane when officials announce that car may take up grid position and race starts. disgraceful officials decision especially when car concerned was trying to delay as much as possible to gain more tyre temp and brake temp prior to race start, this series is great-----Event control by MNZ old school officials is appalling. |

Cassidy will make it. What's wrong with that? Harry Potter was a great wizard!

An excellent day at Manfeild today with some fine weather at last.
Congratulations to Nick Cassidy for the GP win... and it was pretty funny seeing the Podium Girls fight back when the champagne was being sprayed around. http://i1179.photobucket.com/albums/...2_NZGP_601.jpg http://i1179.photobucket.com/albums/...2_NZGP_602.jpg |

Pity that Ferrari Driver Academy is tarnishing the image with the following tweets:
FDA_baldo FerrariDriverAcademy: A good bye to all the fans and organizers of TRS New Zeland...not sure if FDA will see you again after the bad arrangement of 2012..@TRSNZ1 Followed by FDA_baldo FerrariDriverAcademy: A very simple advise for the future : keep your NZ driver in NZ racing with yourself...it is a good way to win ! |

Telling TNZ their feelings is not going to change their ending, it's just going to mess with TNZ. But what is the reason behind FDA frustration?

But they do have the superior engineers by a long way. Look at ETEC for example, 3 of their 4 engineers were working on single seaters for the first time in their careers. The Giles guys have years of experience. And it's not like Ferrari didn't have the money to put him in a Giles car. Surely they would have looked at the history and seen it was Giles or no championship effectively. |

Don't know what they're on about, I really enjoyed watching and officiating on this years series, and can comfortably say it was one of the best yet. I just hope that this outburst doesn't harm the series in the future.

well, he's looking at things from a f1 perspective, and an italian one. italians are familiar with a particular type and way of disorganisation in which things can be hastened by communicating directly with the organ grinder, not the monkey. situations of conflict are resolved differently, often involving public confrontations and a lot of shouting in f1 everything is organised with military precision, and god help you if you step out of line. conflicts are resolved by levels of authority and occasionally, reasonable discussion.
with that in mind i can understand his frustration. but you're dealing with little cars, in a small country, with a (in comparison to europe and what he's used to) smaller motorsport industry with less need for flashy stuff. competition and seriousness and professonalism looks different to what he's used to. i don't know what his problem is. young trainee ferrari drivers don't have a history of winning stuff once they've been taken on by the mothership. situation normal |

He had a bit of a dig on his FB page, is hard to get what he was getting at by translating what he said, with google.
