Will it be obligatory to race in both heats and both semis to make it look like more have entered.

You'll have to be committed in the semis as only all 14 starters will go through!

A diz type idea for Steve Burns to help reinvent the Festival mentality of the good old days.

Remember when FF drivers used to enter the Festival 'just to be a part of it' and many knew they wouldn't even get through their heat [such were the numbers of entries] but happily loaded up and settled down to watch the rest of the weekend.

Why not offer entry to the 1600 Festival to the other FF1600 drivers who will be there anyway [Historics, Classics etc.] for free, or a very realistic additional fee. This would bolster the entry towards the WHT level.

The Historic FF1600 race has been cancelled due to a lack of interest.... and remember they have a Championship round at Silverstone on Saturday.

JEB has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
Let's try and get the Zetec numbers up.

This is the main race at the Festival.
Anyone who has a Zetec should be out - don't hide behind the 'I can't win' line. Whatever age your Zetec car is why not put your entry in.

The Festival is about taking part - if it wasn't for my bad neck I would have been out this year....just to take part.

My running of the WHT is to see as many racers as possible on track. The more the merrier, and not everyone, sadly, can win. The crowd who attend want to see cars on track, that is why the go to watch motor racing.

By the way - I plan to run a Zetec race at the BRDC Marshals' Club meeting at Silverstone on March 19th 2005. This will be at the first BRDC meeting of the new season. This race will also have the opening FF1600 race of the season at it as well.

Details will be announced at the WHT.

Ian has it been cancelled? When I spoke with Martin on Sunday he was after stuff for the programme (Though he did say only 4 entries had been received to that point)

Why arent the historics allowed to enter the regular Festival? I seem to recall earlier in the year there were historic entries mixed in

Yes, it has - that is why we have the extra King of Kents races. The Historics can't enter the Festival as that is for Zetecs, but there's nothing stopping them entering teh KoK Trophy races as far as I know.

For Classic / Historic drivers, tyres aren't a problem as KoK runs to BRSCC regs which has Class E for Pre82 where they can use Dunlops, or Avon ACB9s' if they want to.

how much to race in the Zetec race ?

I'd think about having a go as I'm not sure about the FF1600 race at brands this year.

nothing bad,

just the extra days, getting the car up there suriving the carnage getting the car ready for walter hayes, I have a small engine niggle with the new engine which I'd like to sort out before the walter hayes, and ragging the pants of it at the festival carnage fest may not be the best way to go about it.

If I'm happy with the car and spares to make sure I'm ok for the Walter hayes I'll enter, I'm just not in a position to commit my car/engine at the moment.

Guys, as a marshals who has officiated at countless FFF over the years and enjoyed almost every one of them, I would like to thank you in advance for getting the level of entries for the KOK as high as they are.

To the majority of us (marshals) the FFF is all about the popping and banging of the Kent engine and the close racing that almost always happens with FF's

I am looking forward to seeing as many of you as possible over the Festival weekend.

hi all,

after furious bating of each other, Hugh Robertson has just rang the BRSCC to check the format of the Festival.

the BRSCC say the format posted on Clubff1660.co.uk (heats/semi's/quaters etc) is only valid for the zetecs not the KOK.

Could anyone confirm the format for the king of kents, as the BRSCC appears to have two opinions, the Steve Burns and the non Steve Burns format.

Just checked with BRSCC
The latest is as posted by Mr Potter.
This is the same as on Clubff1600.
Where there is a difference is your mentioning of quarters.
Neither 1600 or 1800 have these. All is still flexible as the timetable is entry driven, but as of now both Zetec and Kent are running 2 x 15 lap heats, 2 x 20 lap semis and a 25 lap final.

The new timetable has not filtered through to all of the operatives in the office yet. I shall be in the office tomorrow to put the whole thing to bed / post finals & tickets etc.

Just a tip, to have a good chance of getting a garage I would suggest booking one for Thursday / Friday testing with Alan Tapson at Brands, as we are trying to minimise people having to move between testing and the race meeting (this offer applies to Festival and King of the Kent's competitors only).

So, the more 1600 entries the greater the chance of a garage! Well, time for a few more Kent guys to register I reckon
