So Rosenqvist won the Macau GP ahead of Auer and Cassidy
Ocon and Blomqvist crashed out together causing a big pile up on lap 1. Max Verstappen started 24th on the grid, 19th at the restart(behind the SC) and finished 7th. |

The pile-up didn't sound good for Kanamaru (didn't see it). Mucke 1-2, Cassidy 3rd, Verstappen flew back to 8th. Ferrucci never ceases to impress me tbh.

Unbelievable how much bad luck Felix Serralles can have. P6 at the first start and then taken out behind Jordan King"s hastily repaired car on the restart. Pitted for a new wing and had leading pace despite being almost a lap behind

Just heard this from one of the crewmembers on verstappen.nl: Max his car had damage to the undertray and was'nt quite straight after beeing hit in the pileup, also the driveshaft was leaking oil. still he managed to drive to 7th place and set the fastes lap.
and you can't even take a photo with your trophy without beeing photobombed Last edited by steve nielsen; 16 Nov 2014 at 13:47. |

Seralles is a phenomenal driver who has had horrendous luck ever since his incident at Silverstone in 2012 imo, he would be on the F1 radar had he not been injured so surprisingly badly and with such long-lasting effects.

What a dream weekend for Rosenqvist - Pole, fastest lap in the qualy race and winning both the qualy race and the main race itself. He's already said that he's moving on from F3 so what a way to go out!
Speaking of his future, I just have a feeling that he will move away from single-seaters altogether - with his Mercedes links and longtime association with Mucke, I could potentially see him in the DTM. Failing that, maybe a sportscar program with a Merc somewhere (Blancpain Sprint/Endurance Series maybe?) |

Quite astonishing pile up even for Macau standards and it wasn't even at Lisboa!!!!
I hope Felix scrapes enough for a season of FR3.5 before he gives up hissingle seater career? Cassidy was bloody impressive I thought? Auer seemed to lose his edge after getting mugged in the qualy race? Real shame we lost Tom Blom and Este Ocon like that in the pile up. |

Auer did look as though he had lost his edge a little bit, he outbraked himself at Lisboa at least twice, so impressed with Cassidy though, excellent offensive and defensive driving hopefully we see more of him next year.

Cassidy did a good job but do not forget T Sport and the very strong Neil Brown engine.....hope they can get a top driver next season as they have all the ingredients, in the team and car, to win.

I wonder who was worse this weekend (I'm not going to bother to look it up....), Sam Mcleod or TOM'S Toyota?

Cassidy looked so impressive on the telly. Huge commitment in the corners. Occasionally getting sideways in a car that clearly drives wheels-on-line best. By far the closest to the barriers in corner exit among the front runners, too. Looked like a man with nothing to lose. Might have well been the case too, given his lack of funding. Mind you, first visit at Macau(not sure if he has driven any street circuit at all in the past?)
Regarding the San Fransisco pile-up, probably looked slightly more dramatic than it actually was. Most of the field had plenty of time to either stop, or at least slow down before the impact. Hence why we only lost a few cars in the end. This corner has seen worse in the past... 1995 anyone? Agreed, that left a small void in the front battle. A bit surprised that Coletti finished 20 seconds behind too, but than again the car took a big whack at Mandarin at the first start. |

Yeah, I was also very impressed by Cassidy, huge commitment! He was a bit over driving though, great driving. He should try something more powerful than FR2.0 and F3.

Neil Brown like VW and Mercedes have built bespoke race engines that do not have standard components. However they have to be designed to strict tolerances, weights etc

Any chance to see a team or two taking a gamble on the NBE for next year? Probably a long shot given VW and Merc's record, but after the pace Cassidy has shown out of nowhere at Macau...
