The Timekeepers are solely responsible for the normal timing of the race. There will be a seperate licensed MSA Handicapper present who will oversee the Handicap. The Final Instructions state:

HANDICAPS: Provisional handicaps will be available from the Secretary's office at 08:00. Final handicaps will be available at approximately 10:30. Any queries regarding the handicaps should be directed to the Handicapper, who will be situated on the 1st floor of Race Control until the start of the race.

Ah, NOW I get it...

Are these guesstimates, or outright fibs?

Only some of those bigger cars seem awfully expensive to go so slowly?

Well mine was a guesstimate. My best time ever is 1:10.67 but I have no proof as it was a few years ago.
They estimated my time (based on a lap of Pembrey) at 1.11 so they are not far out.

Anybody back home from this yet to post a brief result summary? I didn't get to stay until the end.... plenty of action in the first few hours I watched, not too many people treating it as an endurance race and the normal high quota of near misses on the pit straight!

I didn't get a results sheet but from memory Gold Arts won on track. We (The Grunties) came 17th on track, I think, and 44th on handicap although we had mechanical problems with two cars and one ran out of fuel on track.

Congratulations to all involved, a great day - 6hrs on the bank flew by. Not much to do at Maggots, one car in on the first lap, one in the gravel later and an oil slick Exxon Valdez would have been proud of, not bad for 6hrs and a mad number of cars.

Glad I wasn't on the blue flag, they must have arms like Arnold Schwarzenegger tonight!!

Well done guys, and I think without exception you all acknowledged us on the "in lap" (easily pleased )

Ah, you were over THERE?
I was parked on the Beckett's outside bank.
No, NOT in the Range Rover!
I was chatting to the young lady in orange just as things finished, having come back inside... It wasn't any warmer there, then anywhere.

Pix to come. Sadly, I don;t think think I took any looking your way, too much fencing...

What a great meeting, had much fun in the pitlane, even if I feel that I walked more miles than some teams drove!
Well done to all the drivers / team managers / etc for getting the team to the finish, even if a few were running short of cars as time went on!
Thanks also for you patience at the start of qualifying when we had that nice long queue, but everyone got out with time to spare, so can't be a bad thing!

Good to meet you, Asp; sorry I didn't catch up with Falcemob or TimtG. It was great event with up to 50 cars on the track at one time and a wonderful variety of them, too. Since I regard most of the cars to a greater or lesser degree, historic, I will eventually put up one of my amateur pictorial reviews (as I think I did last year), in the Historic Racing Today Forum, unless someone beats me to it! Anyway, will let you know when it is started!

Thanks to all of you marshalling on the bank and in the pits on what was another perishingly cold Silverstone day.
Great flagging and very friendly bunch in the pit lane.
Apart from the first lap second corner nonsense, great driving by all I encountered with plenty of use of the mirrors.
Good to see you again Asp.
Just off to look at Tim's gallery.
