Once can only hope that Mr Heimgartner can bring some fresh ideas to the table.
Assuming he's not hobbled by politics for not being a Kelly. |

"Yes, the car will be identical to the other 3 in specification... *wink-wink*"
In an arrangement like that, it's hard to know who's being shafted. I suspect everyone, except the bloke in the centre of it. |

3 years with Supercars and HN (and partners).
Not sure how long the Kellys need to provide a car for her though. |

Would love to see her in a "proven" car. Did well all year then put on an absolute clinic at Newcastle

If they were out to win at all costs, they would be looking at the option of homologatng a GTR engine as a way to sort out their lack of horsepower IMO. But IMO I don't think they are.. I think development budget is tight. |

They've certainly been very conservative.
Look at the MB and Volvo efforts. Went to the very limit, and then lobbied for more, to get those engines in the ballpark. Erebus even threw out the big-dollar HWA-developed induction system very, very early on in the piece. |

Is there anything to be linked to the fact that Nissan aren't running at the 12 Hour either?

Nissan has never demonstrated the commitment to be successful, leaving it to local operations such as in Australia with the Bluebird and Skyline programs and the US with the likes of Electramotive. Remember the trouble Fred Gibson had getting anything of value out of Japan? They have had glimmers of success but head office seems to have a short attention span. |

Three GT3 teams with Supercar links are conspicuous by their absence from the 12 Hour grid in 2018: Walkinshaw, Nissan and Tekno despite strong presence in previous years. Is money and resources getting tight?

Tekno is the really strange one - they have totally disappeared from 2017.
Porsche bringing in Manthey instead of Walkinshaw can't be a vote of confidence |

Presumably Walkinshaw GT3 isn’t continuing considering the sale in the primary Supercar team. Their Porsche has also been superseded, and presumably there is a lack of appetite for investment with little opportunity for commercial return... and.. it seems they weren’t successful at taking over the rights to run Carrera Cup as was much talked about...

Maybe it was a case of Walkinshaw racing's commercial manager leaving to be motorsport manager at Porsche - and then a someone adding 2+2 to get 5? |

Is it safe to say that if Nissan stay involved beyond 2018, it will be with a GTR body for 2019?
