I agree Mike, lots of high profile names behind it, hopefully it will grow into a great 'off season' championship!

this may have already been answered, sorry i am lazy, have any drivers been named yet? Is England in it or GreatBritain, just thinking of how we segregate ourselves at times, such as rugby and football, we are england ireland scotland wales, but for olympics, we are GB. Not that it makes that much difference other than we could have have 4 teams as oppose to one, no i am rambling, sorry

I'm surprised it's a Great Britain team rather than UK - that rules out Adam Carroll who had been linked with the seat.

Yes, I'd heard that too, it's the country who scores points and there's not a driver points table as such.

could be just like the olympics. great britian and northern ireland is usually just called great britian anyway (probably because hardly anyone form northern ireland takes part!)
but that may be the case. |

The poster may be wrong.
I've checked with A1GP - and they confirm it is UK. |

It's a very interesting concept, in that with franchises for Pakistan and China &c they have an immediate hook with a large proportion of the world's population.
Only concern is that the drivers will have a lot less experience than those in the "motor racing" countries and could be humiliated. Wonder whether the concept will outlast the formula? If they put on good racing over the winter the country v country bit may be otiose. |

Pity there does not seem to be an Iran team yet. That country's best driver seems to be female racer Laleh Seddigh-which is somewhat embarassing the current regime!

Heard the two brazilian drivers in Ronaldinho team could be Oliveira and Bernoldi. This is still very early, but they are strong candidates for the drives.

the official launch of A1GP Team Australia is 7.30pm this Wednesday. Media launch earlier in the day with Sheik Makhtoum putting on a demo at Eastern Creek, so you can guess where the race will be held! unfortunately SportsCar&Racer won't have its editor there due to other committments!
