Well Day 1 of testing is in the books at Barber Motorsports Park. Scott Dixon tops the chart with no suprise. I think the big suprise is Robert Doornbos with the 2nd fastest time. Danica didnt fare so well but she will do better tomorrow.
Here is the results of practice session 1.. Rank / Car # & Driver / Time / Speed / Best Lap 1. #9 Scott Dixon / 01:10.5005 / 117.446 / 36 2. #06 Robert Doornbos / 01:10.6341 / 117.224 / 47 3. #11 Tony Kanaan / 01:10.6621 / 117.177 / 71 4. #10 Dario Franchitti / 01:10.6630 / 117.176 / 58 5. #6 Ryan Briscoe / 01:10.6937 / 117.125 / 34 6. #3 Will Power / 01:10.7772 / 116.987 / 63 7. #02 Graham Rahal / 01:10.7795 / 116.983 / 70 8. #26 Marco Andretti / 01:10.8921 / 116.797 / 65 9. #4 Dan Wheldon / 01:10.8977 / 116.788 / 45 10. #18 Justin Wilson / 01:10.9079 / 116.771 / 61 11. #27 Hideki Mutoh / 01:10.9650 / 116.677 / 68 12. #5 Mario Moraes / 01:11.1491 / 116.375 / 65 13. #12 Raphael Matos / 01:11.4496 / 115.886 / 48 14. #7 Danica Patrick / 01:11.4640 / 115.863 / 53 15. #24 Mike Conway / 01:11.8791 / 115.193 / 77 16. #20 Ed Carpenter / 01:12.4355 / 114.309 / 75 |

To save Danica Fan the trouble it is very clear that timing was a complete foul up and in fact Danica was at least a second faster than anyone else.

Yesterday and today, Ryan Hunter-Reay and EJ Viso shared some testing time at Sebring International Raceway in Florida for HVM Racing. Ryan drove the car on the 25th and EJ Viso drove the car today on the 26th.
They are trying to finalize everything to get Ryan Hunter-Reay into a 2nd car for the team to run in this year's season. I hope they get it done. Ryan deserves a ride. He won last year at Watkins Glen and was the 2008 Rookie-of-the-Year. |

Practice 1 Fastest lap: 1:36.26 The field covered by 2.2 seconds. The top-10 covered by 0.7s. The top-14 covered by a fraction under 1 second. Practice 2 Fasest Lap: 1:35.707 The field covered by 2.2 seconds. The top-10 covered by 0.7s. The top-14 covered by under 1 second. So, a 25-second longer lap, and at a track that is very demmanding on the cars at that. It seems you were wrong, RichardRenes. |
