Citroen involvement with Hansen has reduced over the years but they give them body parts, small sponsorship and sometimes engineers that has worked with WRC cars (also Oreca) I think. You could say that Hansen does the most things themselves |

Kristoffersson Motorsport will race the Swedish Rallycross Championship and at least one RallycrossRX round in 2014, with a view to a full world campaign...

Can't wait to see the dates but also the first race seeing who will compete in full WRX. The European CHampionship is only there for five rounds so i guess some guys of the midfield might as well choose for the challenge assuming they will grow to 8 events including a Scandinavian round?

Finland is set, also Norway I've heard. Höljes will be a World Championship race but don't know about Norway and Finland

All 12 rounds of 2014 will have World Championship status for the SuperCar drivers, if confirmed by the WMSC tomorrow. But only 5 or 6 of the rounds in Europe will count for a European title, not open for the World series regulars.

That schedule is tight for sure. Any amateur that can do the full S1600 or TC season is insane!
Also amazing how much the calendar has changed in just a few years. Only two rounds were in the 2004 European Championship... Added with Lydden Hill and Loheac that makes only 4 'historic' Rallycross tracks. |

Interesting calendar. Hopefully the new venues won't be mickey mouse efforts. I'm encouraged by the fact that they are using an established track in the form of Istanbul.

No rounds in Eastern Europe is as much of a surprise as Italy is added to the calendar. I notice the ERC is only over 5 rounds, Lydden being one which might increase the entry though im surprised Holjes and Loheac are world rounds only, hope that doesn't mean a smaller entry particually in France.
What it doesn't do is encourage drivers from 2 of the healthier supercar countries who don't want to do the WRX to do the European championship. Italy I doubt would get more than just the world drivers despite it being a combined round. Long time to go yet and lots of FIA approvals to be done etc so I wouldn't bet against a few changes before the season starts. |

I expect the reasons why there are no rounds in Eastern Europe are the same as this year
High hosting fees. Which is why I am struggling to see why they are going to place that has absolutely no history supporting rallycross, nor ever has. it is like taking Nordic ski-ing to Dubai Or the World Cup to Qatar Oh hang on, this is sport isnt it, not money! Istnabul Park!! FFS that was a car park for a few years, WSB went there this year coz they only go to places now that pay them (organisers), hence the biggest round ever, Brands told them to chuff off as they asked too much money years back! Pathetic |

Looking at the calender I expect to much temperaly circuits (Italy/Belgium/Canada/Tyrkey/Argentina) which will look like stadium races.
Well seen that now at Global Rally Cross. It's far far away from decent rallycross. It all looks great for the nearby future. But at some point all those energy-drink-sponsors will leave. Really heading the way DTM/truckracing/A1GP/rally WRC went. In the end we have nothing... |

Have you British seen anything weird about the Lydden date?
The calender says May 24 and 25. Other years Lydden is on sunday and monday, and May 26 is spring bank holiday, so my guess is May 25 and 26 for Lydden. |

If there's live television surely the finals will need to be on the Sunday.

They managed to put together an international calender.
Shame no Nyriad (or another round in Eastern Europe). Any chance we will see a round in Russia (Tatarstan?) in near future? WRX rounds can be entered by drivers who do not the full WRX? |

About the Argentinian round. At Cordoba and Misiones there's room for dirt sections:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=An8TfjdpGc4 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZSSyVu4wWb4 But first see than believe. For a couple of years there was scheduled a WTCC event in Argentina but until this year every time it was cancelled. |

I thought Hungary looked great on the Eurosport tv coverage with that really fast joker lap. Timerzanof and Hansen battle there this year was great.
FIA returning to Belgium for rallycross but why not the Duivelsberg? |

Had not noticed that, also assumed it would be Sunday, Monday, due to the no engine noise before 12:30 on a Sunday.
