I am not really knowledgeable on the current young drivers in the Holden stable - Minolta series or related series.

Basically anyone who isnt 50+ and already retired from racing

I don't think that Holden would pull the pin on them over driver choice but both parties would be looking for a good result and due to that a safer bet plus Holden have had a good relationship with Russell for some time.

Whilst it'd be great to put a young up-&-comer in the chair, I can see the logic of this approach. Maybe an opportunity missed but then again, it's not my dollars being spent & I can understand some caution coming into play.

Man 2004 called, they want their racing series back...

I'm not sure anybody in the Dev series right now fits the bill, who isn't aligned with another team...

Odd that Walkinshaw have not engaged with anyone since Nick Percat.

They really haven't aligned themselves at all with anything relevent these days.

Volvo V8 Supercars star Scott McLaughlin says he is confident heading into the three endurance races, given how quickly co-driver Alexandre Prémat re-adapted to the car at yesterday’s test.

The team was part of a multi-team, pre-Sandown 500 test at Winton yesterday, which meant Europe-based Prémat had his first chance to drive the S60 since last year’s Gold Coast 600.
Both McLaughlin and Prémat left the test impressed with both the car’s pace, and how quickly the Frenchman got back up to speed.
”Straight away Alex was comfortable, and within 10 to 20 laps he was basically on my pace,” said McLaughlin.
“Today our main focus was to see that he was comfortable with the car and I think we’ve got a really good shot for the enduros.
”We just got to push on and make sure our car is good. We tried a couple of things that we will have at Sandown and I think we made an improvement. There are big things to come and I am really excited.”
Prémat added that, despite an almost 11-month break from driving a V8, he felt like he’d been doing it all year.
”It is like I never left V8 Supercars because I jumped in the car and bam, with the lap times, which was pretty good,” he said.
“It was super fast, I was as quick as Scotty, so I’m pretty happy with that! I’m looking forward to Sandown and to be racing… it feels like I never left the car.”

Whincup has lost most of the day with vibration issues in the new car.

If you want to know why Lowndes doesn't have it, this is probably why!

Driveline vibrations are becoming quite common in the CotF chassis.

Yeah, you would have thought a transaxle should have had less, is it fair to say common in 888 chassis?

Don't forget that there is a torque tube between the engine and transaxle, running at engine RPM.

The DTM always reward drivers from the F3 Euroseries whenever drives become available.

HRT could have tried something similar.

One driver I thought of is Thomas Randle, reigning FF Champion , current F4 frontrunner with experience in the family Saab sports sedan.

every SuperStreet and Pirtek Enduro Cup will be live on FTA. Ten have got Clipsal 500, Townsville 400, Sandown 500, Bathurst 1000, Gold Coast 600 and Sydney 500 that will be shown live right across the weekend. Like Clipsal, Bathurst will be shown on Friday on Ten.

Didn't 888 abandon a chassis in the past as they couldn't get the vibration out of it? Makes you wonder if there is a fundamental construction issue.

It does seem like there's something askew with the design.
