Just going off topic for a bit, reading up about the camping situation... anyone planning on "roughing" it at Morgan Park this weekend?
It's probably the one perfect meeting of the year. Not too hot that you have to sleep on the ground outside your tent (on an anthill) and not so cold that the sleet collapses your tent! BTW- the condamine sports club on Saturday night looks like a goer |

OK - have reprocessed all of the Mallala results to include Series Points - each race shows the points so far up to and including that race whilst the entry list will show final points after the final race.
Porsche Series includes only HALF POINTS for Race 22 as it was declared as at lap 3 ie prior to the completion of 75% of scheduled race distance. |

Honestly Race I wonder what you would do in your life if there was no motor racing. You obviously don't have a wife & kids, either that or you have a panic room which you lock yourself into each day

Wife plus two kids (work from one of them will be seen in a few days when a new web he has been working on site goes live for a race track...)
Remember that timing is my livelihood - so having programs to work all this out is part of my 'arsenal'....plus, the computer side (results, timing, stats etc) is what I enjoy doing...that and working on the new web site which, btw, will be live by the end of teh week... |

Thanks for that Race, am looking forward to the new venture by the way. Nice to have a family that is interested in what you do. Mine love the racing but not too keen on my side of things. Most kids want to spend your money, not have to watch you account for it.
My other half has no interest in my side either, only how much do we have to spend for the next Round. |

We left just as the 944's were going out.
I will ask if any of our guys saw anything before they left. |

I have just been told that the car pulled up at a marshalling point of which had no extinguisher and everyone sat around and watched it burn. If this is true it is a very disgusting and poor method of operation. All I can say is if it were my car I would be quite upset you could say.

I have just recieved the following press statement;
BIGGER THAN TEN BEARS! Round One 2004 Victorian State Circuit Racing Championship successfully held at Mallala Motor Sport Park north of Adelaide last weekend, 26-28 March 2004 The committee of the Victorian State Race Series Inc took the bold and exciting step to hold the first round of the Victorian State Circuit Racing Championship, out-of-state at Mallala Motor Sport Park, South Australia. The result was a capacity field of 220 entries, including 60 from South Australia. Local competitor Lyndon Punshon said, "This is a ripper idea! We've been travelling to Victoria for the past six years, and it's great to now have all those Victorians come to our home ground and see how well we can do it." Organised by the Sporting Car Club of South Australia, the Meeting featured several Event changes. Racing into the twilight and then under lights gave many a new experience on a warm still evening. This proved both exciting and challenging, as the drivers re-learned the circuit under lights, and the crowd soaked up the extra excitement of flaming exhausts and glowing brake disks. The early finish on Sunday gave teams time to travel home comfortably. Circuit owner Clem Smith said "It's the biggest and happiest crowd we've had since the V8 SuperCar round.” The Victorian State Race Series run by a consortium of affiliated clubs for more than 20 years, includes a number of CAMS State Racing Championships. The success of the Series, and the fact that it is run "by the clubs, for the clubs" is proof that the members of the sport know what they want and are prepared to invest the effort to make it happen. With the VSRS, the sport has the talent, the will and the commitment to ensure that Motor Racing continues to be run for Competitors. Round Two Victorian State Circuit Racing Championship, Sandown International Motor Raceway 24/25 April. |

Restrictive media release is it? Or do they have people on their 'do not sent to' list??

fyi, the Adelaide Advertiser (the South aust version of the Herald sun) ran 5 articles about the meeting leading up to the event, mostly mentioning about Eric Bana and Andrew Moffatt. Pretty good support. Mostly only short articles, but, its better than no press at all! I also saw a Channel 7 chopper there on the Saturday, possibly there was some TV coverage in adelaide.
