Unfortunately, James spun out before being able to improve on his morning time. It appears that the afternoon session was not dry throughout and obviously the best times were set right at the end, which further explains the confusion.
If you look at the times - this is the best place: http://www.formel3.com/saison2004/ba...quali_comb.htm - there were only two-tenths covering the top seven, but then another two-tenths before the eighth-placed driver! |

Not too far out there toot. Di Resta showing he fully deserved his autosport award. It goes without saying there'd be more to come from Green. What happened to Hamilton? |

He's been doing some testing in Europe vis a vis his plans for 2005 - probably felt it better to save the budget.

I'm sure it's just an oversight, Emma.
I can't imagine you are anything other than top of his list of priorities. |

Jamie Green set himself up for a pole position start in the Bahrain F3 Superprix after crossing the line first in this morning's qualification race, but the Briton - like his 30 rivals - is still waiting for official confirmation of the line-up after the ten-lap encounter was red-flagged short of the scheduled finish.
Green, who started second on the grid after qualifying well on Friday, came home ahead of Fabio Carbone, Nico Rosberg and Marko Asmer, all taking advantage of a poor race for poleman Franck Perera. www.crash.net |

Excuse my ignorance but who is Fabio Carbone? The results seem pretty much confirmed according to www.f3euroseries.com. Attinucci did well to finish 5th considering he spun.

Carbone's one of the most experienced F3 drivers in the world. Did British F3 with Fortec in 2002 (and won the Marlboro Masters), Euro F3 with Signature in 2003 (and won the Pau GP) and Japanese F3 this year with Three Bond (with the Nissan engine).

Carbone was also on the Renault Driver Development Programme, together with Heikki Kovalainen, when he was with Fortec in 2002. Top bloke.
As the race was red-flagged, the results were taken back a lap or two, which is how Antinucci kept 5th place. It still seems daft to me that you keep your place in the results, even if you are not running when the red flag is shown. Interesting that Piquet has moved up to 7th and Hamilton to 13th. Unless there is more red flag nonsense, they still have 20 laps in the feature race to move up further, but Green looks a shoe-in for the win. |

Carbone's a top bloke yeah. Do you remember that hilarious race at Thruxton in 2002? Him and Antinucci had both gone off and were towards the back of the field. Then the safety car came out and the two of them, who are good mates, were driving round side by side making w****r signs at each other for a laugh. Unfortunately Antinucci was so busy joking with Carbone he slammed into the back of Fairuz Fauzy, who'd just braked to a stop because of the concertina effect…

Can't find anything at the moment, just looking - crash.net won't load, f3euroseries.com only has about the qualification race and formel3.com is telling me the page isn't found...will post anything when found though!

How do you know AMWKS? What else happened?
You wouldn't happen to be a family member of Mr Hamilton would you looking at your previous posts? Last edited by toot toot; 10 Dec 2004 at 13:25. Reason: _ |

Toot toot, I am not a family member but a close friend. I got a text from Bahrain, apparently Lewis took Rosberg and Green following a safety car period with two laps to go. Don't know anything else other than shock and happiness for Lewis at the moment! If I get any more info I will update you. regards

Crash.net now confirms last post. Green looked in control until the Safety Car intervention, but then got jumped by both Hamilton and Rosberg. Amazing!
