http://www4.airnet.ne.jp/hisa/gc21_02/index.htm Comparatively entertaining looking beasts, and I'm guessing that throwing the JLMC open to other classes probably wouldn't do them any harm. |

Ok, these are the single seaters which can be transferred in a sports car.

there the dallara F301 chassis with a body thrown over them developed by Mooncraft i think. there a spec LMP3 style car. Mooncraft are the guys behind the Shiden and use to work on the Raybrig NSX for team Kunismitsu [sp?] GC21 use to be a big series series in japan. kind of like a prototype series that was as big as supergt is now. if i'm right they were replaced by the GroupC machines.

Just read over at www.dailysportscar.com that the winner of the 2008 JLMC will get a automatic entry into the 2009 Le Mans 24hrs! The article also mentions the possibilty of Aston Martin Racing entering the championship with Aston Martin's commercial director James Turner saying that they have had discussions with the JLMC organisers and a team in Japan and that they would love to enter the championship although there is no clear plan at the moment.
Sounds like things are really starting to take shape for the JLMC, I was very skeptical about the series when I first heard about it but recently it has started taking steps forwards. |

Curious how they'll do that though, if that Zytek wins LMP1 for example, then they'll need to convert it to new rules before being able to run it at Lemans?

Indeed, by that time the JLMC should have full ACO regulations which will mean that the cars in the LMP 1 category should be eligable for Le Mans, so hopefully there wont be any problems.

There is somewhat like an entry list in the Japanese version of the JLMS hp.
There are listed an amazing 8 cars overall : the Zytek, 1 x Care 550, 2 x JLOC Murcielago, 1 x Porsche RS, 1 x Porsche RSR and two of these small local spiders. Hope they will get some more entries till first race, otherwise we will see something that could only hardly named race |

Sorry to say I can't be of much help, Tim.
The series has been around since 2002 supporting SuperGT, Formula Nippon etc at Fuji (except 2004 when they raced at Motegi and Sugo). Toyota engines and Bridgestone tyres and sadly, that's as much as I can tell you. |

LC75 for JLMC?
Does anyone know more about the white and red Courage LC75 - Mugen which is testing at Magny-Cours at the moment?
See http://www.infoscourse.org/2006_LMS/00_Tests_MC_03.jpg Is there a chance of getting it to Sugo in time for the first round?? Mariantic |

Assuming that it is an LC70 rather than a 75 I'd hazard an educated guess this is the car referred to in a dsc story at the beginning of March.
If so it is certainly bound for the JLMC |

www.dailysportscar.com are today reporting that the above mentioned LC70 is indeed on its way to the JLMC and will be run by M-Tec powered by a 4.5ltr Mugen V8. Nice to see that the JLMC is starting to get some decent entries.

seems like a terrible grid with only 1 LMP1 car and only 2 GT1 cars but the good old zytek is my favorite sports car LMP ever so i will watch it for that reason alone so they are guaranteed the win either way

Give the JLMC time and I am sure the grids will grow. Japan has a very strong motorsport industry, if the entries that were at Sugo stay around for the remainder of the season I woudnt be at all suprised to see the grid grow by a few more entries.

They had to start sometime, and teams are obviously prepared to race come what may. With a Courage LC70 on it's way and no doubt a number of teams eyeing up the series for 2007 it's looking promising. |
