The P1 project is a different section of Porsche motorsport , separate to 911 , separate building , an all new crew of over 300 to support the project , some recruited from F1 , and design facilities .... so will not impact on their other motorsport activities .

If some teams do not intend on doing Sebring , I don't think it will impact on their plans to run a Porsche in GTE . It cant be that different to a currant model .

Head of Porsche Motorsport stated that they will not invest in new engine development until new GT regs have been finalized. Updated 991 will be have the evergreen Mezger engine.

It says customer teams ..... this Core adventure isn't exactly a customer team , as its racing under the Porsche Motorsport North America banner . I reckon Porsche will be working balls out supporting PMNA and WEC efforts ..... then the customer cars will start .

Also , this years 2 cars plus 1 spare I would imagine will end up in the GTE/Am class in WEC or ELMS .

Love to see a Krohn Racing Green Porsche

I think what Arakis is getting at is that he would like to see a 911 with a new engine so that it would be able to compete with his beloved Ferrari 458 on a level footing without relying on BoP.

To his credit, so would I. Unfortunately we have to wait for the new GTE rules.

It wouldn't surprise me to see them dump that Ferrari and go with an Aston or Porsche to be honest ..... the last couple years haven't been good to them and this year its been awful .

Just brought a Porsche GT1 book by Ulrich Upietz featuring the cars 1998 season including the Le Mans win It cost me 170 Australian dollars but I couldn't more happy. Whilst my love for the 911 racers isn't that strong, I've always been a fan of the GT1 mainly because of how it looks, it looks like a crazy squashed stretched 911.

I'd love to get my hands on the two earlier books concerning the car in 96 and 97.

Beautiful books! I only have the first two as prices are a bit high. Check your inbox.

Rumors: Falken Tire (likely)
Paul Miller Racing (unlikely)
some European teams (status unknown)

Don't forget Brumos has shown interest.

It wouldn't shock me to see Dempsey in a GTLM Porsche next year either, particularly if they have an AM category. In the articles that I have read, Porsche really likes the publicity they get when he is in the car.

That would be a smart move. The more exposure the better I say. The good doc has been pretty loyal to Porsche and they will definitely see the positives in having mr suave in their car.

They got a podium at Le Mans last year, how does that not impress?
Granted this year has not been at all good.

I'd like to see Krohn go for the rumoured P2 next year.
