I was thinking of GAVIN Smith one of the big BTCC failed drivers 2 full season in works VX and never won a race despite small quality field and reverse grids... |

Not sure why people and the series have such an issue with the Subaru. It was no more or less successful than the Honda and BMW and if you look at the wins and podiums, not an exact science I know, but I just don't get the fuss.

It's a case of what it could have been without the changes though. When you see how slow it is in a straight line and how it still manages to put in front running lap times it shows the cornering advantage it has. Whenever it's wet and the power isn't so important it flies. Every driver says it's amazing through the corner phase.

Gavin Smith was a similar pace to Shedden in the SEAT Cupra challenge, so there's something there. I'll concede he was underwhelming in the BTCC...

Gavin Smith did get better over time, but never to a level of a top line driver.

Indeed, Ian Harrison realises he was wrong to drop Colin as he soon realised how bad the car was

Rob Collard. Did anybody else see how anonymous he was this year? Maybe it was the switch to a new team along with running a FWD car for the first time in years but he seemed a bit lost in the midfield and never looked comfortable in the car. Not so many accidents just not as sharp and quick as previous years.
Do we think he still has the appetite to come back next year? |

I think Rob is hoping to get back in a WSR seat. He never seemed to find a sweet spot in the Astra.

I am not surprised Tingram is back, need that continuity and happy that Ginsters continue to support the team

Honda are right to keep the same lineup. Is Plato definite for PMR? As I said great Tingram is back, be nice if he had a team mate or two. Moffat, we’ll see who can persuade to join the team. Big question over who will go to WSR and what Colin does

Think a return is highly likely, but I'll be so annoyed if it's only for HARD. I don't dislike them but it's getting a bit frustrating seeing very good drivers as backmarkers - though I suppose for some it would be either that or not in the BTCC at all.
