He's a very young boss if he is.... he's only 25. The List des Engages from LM02 gives very little information about him, except that he's a bachelor, born in Aarhus (and still living there). Unless he's done great things in the last year, there doesn't seem to be a great deal on his c.v.

So you think Rene Metge's been dumped do you Rob? I guess that's the most likely - very experienced but he hasn't raced at Le Mans for a long time.

No, the name of the boss of Den Blaa Avis is Karsten Ree. I don't think he still races major events, although he competed in his Panoz LMP-01 in the Sportscar Championship in 2000 in a few races. Actually he drove it together with Jason Watt, which has had the car fitted with hand-controlled pedals. Casper Elgaard had his Le Mans debut in 2001 in the Dome s101 together with John Nielsen and Hiroki Kato. Last year he drove at Petit Le Mans with Nielsen in the YGK-02S-Zytek (know upgraded and renamed to DBA4-03S-Zytek). But besides the few sportscar events the previous years, he drives a BMW 320i E46 in the Danish Turingcar Championship (DTC) where he currently is placed second just after Jan Magnussen driving a Peugeot 307. For the curiously of you, Casper has a homepage (only in Danish, but anyway...) www.casperelgaard.dk |

I renounce to follow last minute changes... Dominique Dupuy is a good one of the Oreca period, by the way...

What is Yannick Dalmas doing in this coming weekend? He's not driving this year, why?

I'd be upset, too...that will be one fast ride this weekend!!!!
Of course, If Jim matthews wants to step aside, I'd love to see Dalmas drive the R&S car with Goossens and Tinseau.. |

Any news on the third driver in the Konrad-Saleen? So far it's Franz Konrad and Tony Seiler but who's the third one?

About Scorp team line-up...
Luis Marques confirm that he pulled out Lavieille and Metge from the PQ line-up (and will pay a fine to ACO for that) because the car went out of the track too much in May, causing serious damages... he changed his mind and hired two experienced pilots instead...
Something else : notice that it will be the last coming of the Panoz roadsters at LM : next year we'll have only GTs... IMHO... |

I confirm Walter Brun ; BTW, I saw him in the paddock in May, but he didn't wear his anorack, so I thought he was there just as a spectator !

Just one thing : Derichebourg is out of the Courage Team (due to wreck in a rally race), and Jean-Marc Gounon is hired for the race... good choice !

Thanks for that Fab - I did read somewhere that Derichebourg had a big stunt over the weekend.

It was reported on Dailysportscar- Boris had a VERY big one in a Belmondo Viper at the French GT race at Pau- apparently he clipped another car while avoiding a stationary Porsche, hit the wall and rolled several times, hitting another parked car on the way.....
He was pretty shaken up by the accident, and having seen a photo of the car, I don't blame him for taking a weekend off..... http://www.sudouest.com/100603/reg_b...0603a47783.xml |
