As terrestrial Telecinco HD on our Spanish TV was showing the F1, I decided to watch it (something that I don't often do) but I was glad to see the pole sitter as my nephew works for McLaren

Off to Cornwall shortly for daughters wedding. Just waiting for Mrs Delta to get ready so thought I would post some photos from yesterday. I use my mates rolling road and he sure does have some interesting cars.

Back on the garden stories again . Had plenty of tits and pussies , but today was surprised by a long wiggly thing .

About 2 to 3 ft long , dark brown with black marks down its back .
Kept a bit clear because I think it might be an Adder . Another possibility might be a Smooth Snake , but they are supposed to be quite rare .

So will have to keep my eyes open for a while and not do much rolling around in the grass .

Yes , it is the only poisonous creature in this country , and apparently you can tell it by its RED eyes . But I am not going to get quite that close to it to look in its eyes .

I can think of quite a few other poisonous creatures in the country, many of them standing for election today!

Yes , saw that in the news , apparently a Basking Shark which do not have large teeth and do not usually attack people .
But it could be very frightening just to see it .

Back on the roads again .
Reading about a 470 ton load being delivered .
How much planning goes into a job like this .It even requires extra "ranp bridges " being put over normal bridges to take the load .There must be a lot of working out how many bridges , how long and time taken to build and move them .

Tomorrow at the Bonhams auction at the Goodwood festival of speed one of my oldest friends for over 60 years and race sponsor Bob Dockerty's Facel Vega HK500 is up for sale.
Bob was one of the kindest blokes that I knew, he called a spade a spade and didn't suffer fools glady. He died in 2022 before his 80th birthday but we still had the party at Larkins Brewery for him last year.
This is his car that I have worked on over the years doing various things like rebuilding the gearbox and making a clutch plate out of various commercial truck parts and paintwork.
I would have gone down their to watch the auction but I am in Spain so I will watch it live on the Youtube channel and no doubt shed a tear !

By coincidence I am going to a wedding in Nantes on Saturday & the groom's father owns a Facel Vega that he has restored. I've not seen it yet but hopefully it will appear at the wedding.

Thank you John, Bob was one of those blokes that would give you the shirt off of his back and not give a dam about anything. I remember when he was a Lloyds name for 5 minutes when the Exon Valdiz disaster happenend and Bob was clobbered for almost 2 million pounds ! he took it in his stride and flogged a few houses and bits of land off of his farm and carried on as normal with the parties at the brewery and his summers birthdays big do's that started after the pubs chucked out and finished the next day ! Half of the things that happened back then were amazing as the brewery never ran out of beer, and I am pretty sure that the youngsters today probably wouldn't believe what went on There was at least 500 people that attended the funeral and we sent him off with a bang Rip Bob.

Sadly people like that are all too few in the modern world. We need more like Bob.

Absolutely, He was one of the "good guys" in this world who would always help anyone out who was genuinly in need. When I signed up to do the TOCA ICS package he paid for all my race entries and more right up until I stopped racing!
I took him round Brands Hatch in the Anglia and aithough he admitted that he was scared for a couple of laps, when he got out he sung my praises and said that he was glad that he could help me and that it was money well spent. What a brilliant bloke he was and no one ever had a bad word to say about him.
