Amazing photos there, I hadn't heard of Kevin Gutteridge before, but his motorsport photography is fantastic.

Yes, there's been some brilliant 80's/90's motorsport stuff turned up on Flickr over the last year or so.- It's especially good when you find that someone has caught some of those less-often seen cars that didn't often show up in pics published in Autosport & MN's reports, the guys who did part-seasons or one-offs; One I found amongst those RS500 pics was a shot of Vic Lee in the second MIL Supra and Lionel Abbott in Prodrive's part-time 3rd M3, neither of which turned up in many published pics at the time

It was good to see Karl Jones up at the front. Think he was an Instructor at Brands.

Excellent pictures.
Obviously that was the Goode Listerine RS500 in 1988, but this is in 1989 Sean Walker / Damon Hill livery...

Yes, correct. I believe it was re-painted/new livery sometime after it arrived in Australia.

Yes, it was in the 1988 white Goode/Listerine colours (as originally restored) when it went to Australia

I suppose that the new owners felt that the Damon Hill connection was historically more important than either Graham Goode's or Sean Walker's times with the car. (Mind you, apart from his up-coming VW Scirocco race, the Donington Park BTCC outing must have been Damon's highest profile tin-top race)

If you look closely at the names on the front wing, Sean Walker's name is not there, It has Damon Hill and current owner. In Australia most know of Hill but only if you were into BTCC Sierra's would you know of Walker.

Thanks Carl.To be honest, my comment was made somewhat tongue in cheek. Internationally I am sure that more people will have heard of someone who became F1 World Champion than a couple of guys who, albeit were very successful in their field, didn't...

Was the Saab 900 Turbo challenge in 1987 not high-profile then?? Lol!!

Apart from the Saab Challenge outings Gregor mentioned (I'd completely forgotten about the whole series, let alone DH appearing in it!), the Donington RS500 outing was pretty much his only tin-top race as I recall?
Apart from that, and a couple of Group C appearances in one of Richard Lloyd's 962s, his career was pretty much single-seaters all the way up to F1 as I recall?

I think even those in the Saab series with they could forget it!!
Damon was all single seaters (other than bikes as well of course) but I think there was the odd Brands Hatch Escort/Fiesta race and maybe a P100 too but I don't think there were any other saloon outings.

LOL!:-D

I think that was the year Damon had to do F3 again with Glenn Waters/Cellnet but it was a disaster and he withdrew about a 3rd of the way in because the team couldn't get the cars to work? Mind you it was a mega competitive year with massive grids so he was probably glad to try the Sierra!!

Just reviving this to look at Sierras at Macau again. We've had a couple of mentions of one or more Sierras driven by Albert Poon at Macau around 1987/8/9.

A couple of pics of what seem to be his 1987 entry- a plain white Cosworth, #66. This pre-race head-on shot is interesting though, as it shows the car with a UK registration number on the front bumper- C233HVW, which IIRC was one of the early press cars which became the Securicor Challenge rallycars in 1986. So Poon's 1987 entry was a converted rally car, rather than a purpose-built racer?

Full-spec Group A RS500s seem to have been either unobtainable or prohibitively expensive for the local drivers in 87- another local Sierra entry, #29, Frankie Lee, in what's very obviously a production/Group N car: http://www.motofan.com.hk/motofan/im...b/set_40/5.jpg

There are a few down under inc the Benson and Hedges one and I think the Peanut slab car.

I believe the LUI car thats for sale is a wolf based car, plus I know of another wolf car for sale, and then theres Alys up in Scotland.

Chassis numbers though may be difficult to find I will have a look through any info I have
