1: PMM strike a deal with DJR for DJR to prepare and run #49 out of the DJR garage, whilst PMM still managed the entry from a commercial perspective (ala RNR/FPR) 2: PMM lease the #49 REC to DJR to run #49 as a legit 4th DJR entry. I always thought it was going to be option 1, but it has become pretty clear that it is option 2, am I right? Morris now has nothing to do with V8 Supercars apart from owning two RECs which he leases out... Somehow through all of this Quinn has stayed faithful to the REC, in turn ensuring its survival and ability to be placed at DJR. Obviously this has granted him the ability to say "Steve stays"... Sorry for the rambling - just doing the math out loud. Such a strange business this is... |

If A Davo was knocked back for a BJR drive due to lack of funding, my thoughts are that BJR are simply still down a sponsor (sounds as if A Davo wasn't bringing anything with him). I think Fab's comment was based on a worst case scenario of BJR only running two cars next year - #8 BOC obviously, but which car to paint Fair Dinkum or Wilson Security/Lockwood on, #14 or #21? If they can only run two cars and are forced to lease a REC out (FPR?) they would most probably have to go with keeping #21 due to the REC being co-owned by Bright. BJR 8 - BOC - Bright 21 - Wilson Security/Lockwood - Coulthard FPR 5 - Orrcon - Winterbottom 6 - Trading Post - W Davison (14) - (TBA) - (Mostert) 55 - Bottle O - Reynolds PURE SPECULATION ON A WORST CASE SCENARIO / BACK UP PLAN FOR BJR Last edited by SJA; 12 Jan 2012 at 05:16. |

KR want to expand to run 2 development series cars, on top of the 4 main game cars.
http://www.speedcafe.com/2012/01/13/...eries-program/ Does this mean there may be a bit of cashflow from a legal dispute that will help this along? |

Sometimes I think the stories in Speedcafe are an extension of various teams' marketing department, by saying 'we have the capacity & desire to do X' that it has the potential to drag potential customers out of the woodwork, and into their lair with chequebooks a'waiting. The opportunity possibly exists for the 'right' pilot(s) with the 'right' backing to slot into one of the main KR or PE cars for the season of endurance, so a link with a 'Level 1' team would be something potential pilots could sell to their sponsors/fathers etc What you might question in the grand scheme of things is to what level of service may be provided to a car that would be wither 5th or 6th string. You might imagine too that if a team hasnt 'turned over' their fleet to customers during its lifespan, that there is an accumulation of older components, engines, chassis tune that would more than likely be pressed into service for this potential operation. Plus a crew that may or may not be the same each race weekend as they are fly-ins... plus what guarantee of engineering support. I wonder if Speedcafe charges for these 'ads' |

Well there's reasons for this, I really don't think you find a 'real' customer in a my105 ad, and if there are HRT or 888 cars available why would you not go for a more 'proven' vehicle?

are you basing the Jack-to-Walkinshaw on the Ingall deal, or is there more information out there published/known?

There has been noise around WP wanting to use their spare chassis, originally mooted by Mr Eggleston as a sale to him, but more recently spoken of as a WP-supported effort. Conceptually, staying in a Sonic 888-built BF and copiloting a 888-built FG alongside Mr Owen could be a closer solution... presuming Mr Morris doesnt return to the enduros.. |

No.. Nothing to do with the PMM Morris clan.
Morris Finance is an equipment & machinery financing company, based in Geelong, who happen to personally sponsor Nick Percat as a sports ambassador, as well as being a ten-tenths.com banner advertiser |

As for comments regarding running 3 or 4 cars better than 2, you'll find most teams say that it's a "scale of economies" thing rather than engineering. I don't know how it works out cheaper having to buy inventory for 3 or 4 cars, but if there's a discount for bulk, then so be it. |

In theory, in a 4 car team, the spares cache can be seen to be lower, carrying fewer engines, suspension parts etc etc on the road, again reducing cost of operation. But I dont see any of these things as actually being 'easier' in the sense that there needs to be an infrastructure built up to support these endeavours, as as with most growing pains, sometimes this stuff takes a while to gel. 888 kind of has the best of both worlds, running 4 Commodores & 4 Falcons in the main game, but only responsible at the race track for the performance of two of these... |
