Well they're not putting the kybosh on their logos and body shells being used in such a high profile series, either. Or their logo on the rocker covers, either. The blue oval is a copyrighted logo, so the fact that it is in use on the cars signifies at least tacit approval I would have thought.

Dunno about Edgell Promax? Just thought i'd post what I knew about the ST "reserved signage areas", which the bottom of the window is in ST's, for Manufacturers only. |

I'd call this support...
from the NZV8 website (from ST site) http://www.v8.co.nz/news-3900/ford-n...tourers-series "With the very first Ford V8SuperTourer racecar chassis arriving in Auckland on 8 August, organisers of the new V8SuperTourer racing series have just confirmed that Ford New Zealand will support the new series. As Ford New Zealand confirmed its new role as a sponsor of the new series, Auckland-based PSR West Racing took delivery of the first FG Falcon V8SuperTourer chassis from Australia. John McIntyre, spokesperson for V8SuperTourers Ltd, said, “It’s fantastic to have Ford’s support of the ‘V8 Series of Champions’. On behalf of V8SuperTourers Ltd, I can say we are all proud to have the opportunity to provide Ford New Zealand with a sustainable platform to promote their current and future models through this exciting motorsport series. “More than 110 individual parts from the FG Falcon road car go into making an FG Falcon V8SuperTourer. The FG Falcon is such a good looking road car, it also makes a very aggressive-looking racecar which we know fans will love.” Chris Masterson, Ford NZ’s marketing manager, was on hand to say “Ford New Zealand is thrilled to be supporting this exciting new V8SuperTourers series. The combination of the great driver line-up and the sheer leap in performance of these racecars will set a very exciting stage for spectators, existing and new. This new series embodies what the Ford Falcon brand is all about: dynamic performance and style.” Looks like an open and shut case to me - maybe you need to read a bit more, Mr Revhead? |

Yeah dealer support is a bit different.
Not sure Ford can stop people putting logos on things. As long as they are not selling them as Ford products |

It's as good a level of support as the NZV8's currently have, at the very least. |

I know there was a move to have some sort of V8 Supercar series in the UK, using Jags and the like, but they were all going to use Nicholson McLaren quad-cam V8's. Not sure if it ever happened though. |

Ford are smart enough to know 90% of people who watch or go to motorstort know very little about the cars. For most people if it looks like a Ford says it's a Ford then it's a Ford! You have people come up to you time after time at the track and ask you stupid questions. You are working on a Ford and they say you, is that a 350 chev? You turn around to see a guy standing there in all his racing gear looking like Micheal Schumacher. Or the one I really love is the, Is that a Supercar motor? or Supercar something? That wasn't you was it Maxi? Win on Sunday sell on Monday

I don't really know, but one thing's for sure, it hasn't been an improvement, it only confirms to us all, that somethings even in todays world are still impossible

Last chance for NZV8s on the streets of Hamilton
A strong field of NZV8s is expected to line up for their final street race at the ITM400 in Hamilton next month. NZV8s Ltd have opened the grid to any driver with a car that meets the Schedule TL requirements, not just those that have contested the NZV8 Championship this season. “Shareholder representatives have been approached by several drivers as...king for the opportunity for one last race on the road, on the same programme as the Supercars. With the support of MotorSport New Zealand, the directors have agreed to open the field to drivers with complying cars,” chairman of NZV8s Ltd, Inky Tulloch said. “Given recent events, it is highly unlikely we will see street racing of this type in New Zealand in the future. There are many drivers with NZV8 championship cars who have contributed to the popularity of the NZV8s over the years, some of whom are not currently racing in the class. Hamilton has been a fantastic venue and this will be the last chance for them to run their cars and compete on a street circuit,” Tulloch said. The NZV8 points winner from the three race ITM 400 event will be the first recipient of the Jason Richards Memorial Trophy, established by MotorSport New Zealand to recognise one of their outstanding touring car champions who died late last year of cancer aged 35. |

I think that its more likely to be the NZV8's rather than V8ST's to be the first to have another manufacturer purely because of the strong ties to Toyota of the two mentioned above.... |
