2018 Le Mans 24 Hours Race Thread
I don't think they lucked out? I think they went green with a safety car gap between them. Which they maintained under green. So when the safety cars are deployed again, the 2nd place car finds itself behind a different safety car due to the gap If they have a 2 safety car gap now, that would be frustrating.... |

Safety Car 1: The 92 pitted a lap before the SC was called. So when everyone else pitted, the others got held in the pit lane and the 92 was 1/3 of a lap ahead.
Safety Car 2: The 92 was fast and driving off into the distance, whilst the cars behind SC2 were working through traffic. When the SC was called, it appears as though the 92 was caught behind SC1, whilst SC3 caught the others, giving it another 1/3 of a lap. |

Looking at the replay, it looks like that Porsche held steady, and the Bykolles just driving into it.

Better replay there, but it did look like the ByKolles came over on the Porsche unfortunately.

Wonder if the Kolles even saw that Porsche. He was following another lmp so probably figured he was clear.
