I'm pretty sure Bentley are back-timing this stop (to 3:15), so I wouldn't expect to see the #8 in for another 3 laps.
Edit - Rain... |

FCY, if the #8 is going to pit then now is the time.

#99 pits, #8 ready with slicks in the garage. Both teams thinking exactly the same thing.
These stops would put the #28 (and maybe #88?) on the lead lap, but they both need a splash on top of the two stops from here. |

Nissan was cleared too quickly for the 8 to take advantage of the FCY.

Yeah, Vanthoor and Van der Zander will unlap themselves when the #8 pits. Back to possibly a 4-car shootout?
Green. |

My word, Bentley have shot themselves in the foot so many times in this race, will they ever get a better shot at a 24 hour race with this car? That one was a bit unfortunate though.

42 seconds and only 1.11 for Vanthoor
Paffett is still a lap down I think |

Another case of what might have been, on pace alone the #28 would be far ahead of even the #8.
They've recovered to 3rd. How much further can they go? Edit - We've got a real Battle of the Belgians on right now. Martin vs Soulet vs Vanthoor. |

Very interesting and honest discussion between Graham, Alex and John there. The cynic in me says it was cut off as soon as it mentioned ACO racing, but it certainly does imply Mercedes have pulled this trick before.
Anyway, seems all the cars are pretty evenly balanced throughout, so all's well that ends well? |

Is the #28 on the same pitstop sequence? 42 secs are a lot but this is the length of an ordinary Blancpain endurance series race.

They could try a couple of short fills on their stops, but the rules on pit times make that difficult. Another FCY that they could capitalize on would see them on the same sequence as the two leaders. Edit - Importantly though, they have kept ahead of the #86 so barring shenanigans 3rd is "safe" for the #28. |
