"European teams that have already entered the Bathurst 12 hour race are:
Team VDS from Belgium, Team GT3 Racing from England and Team Jordans.nl- Red Camel Racing from the Netherlands" Above is a quote from the latest Dubai 24 hour website newsletter. Is Team GT3 Racing Birchwood Racing, with the Aston Martin or another team? |

The entry list also allows the Saker TDi which will be the dark horse if one lines up on the grid. http://www.sakereurope.com/7/Models/default.ecms

There are a couple Sakers wondering round Australia, be nice if they could get them up to speed and send them round the mountain.

Pretty sure a Saker raced in one of the Creventic organised races in the last year or two. Cant remember who the team was though.

There is a Subaru powered Saker which ran in AASA or iRace a year a ago. I managed a few laps around Wakefield in the car at a promo event a few years ago. It was a impressive piece of kit, but was suffering a reliability issue so track time was limited. There is a open top V6 twin turbo also, but it suffered a fire at some stage. Not sure on any others, but the reg's state the TDi spec which the Australian cars do not comply with.
Will any of the Porsche Challenge teams be running in the 12hr? |

They've said they would like to come back next year whether they actually do so or not after winning the event is another thing. I could see them running 1 or 2 cars for gentlemen drivers under the Joest Race Experience banner like they do in the VLN and Nurburgring 24hrs and other enduro events.

Just off the 12hr facebook page
"A Lamborghini LP560 has entered for 2012" Apparently it will be officially announced tonight which car it is. |

Booked my accommodation yesterday and appears that there are not a lot of motel rooms left in town which can only be a good thing.

LP560 won't be quick enough if a 600 turns up.

Check the B12 website, should be no problem. They might even let you camp for free if you volunteer to flag marshal.

I've previously marshalled at a number of V8 events at Bathurst, but this time around it'll be a boys weekend away to spectate. One of my best spectating memories was waking up and stepping out of my tent at 6am, to the sound of race cars and the smell of bacon and eggs at the first Bathurst 24 hour, hence my desire to camp again.

you realise the difference between the two right????
A 600 is just a 560 with some bolt ons..... maybe ~0.2s per minute faster..... a 12 hr race at Bathurst could easily be won by a car ~5 sec/lap slower than than the fastest car. We're at sandown this weekend with Teds car, a jet out the box again since the eastern Creek shunt... he did a 1.14.2 today on really old tyres....... which is only 0.9 off his best ever there.... The drive Bathurst event in November will be worth a look... the first (and only 1 coming) 458 GT3 in Oz will be there........ getting his eye in........ |
