[QUOTE=bugs
Pilbeam is building a sports racer again according to sources. Who is it for? Top12 would like to know? One things is that it is sure to be as pretty as an MP43... Geoff Rollason is to return to single seaters. He has bought the Moran 2.5 V6 and is sleeving it down to a 2 litre. [/QUOTE] Toby I think its a certain burgandy Morgan driver whos having the Pilbeam lmp2 car built with the 4.0 dfl from Nick gregorys car (ex priaulx ithink). Didn't roger 2.5v6 go into Tony Elyles new force ? Dave |

Just to be clear, bugs - you're not Toby, are you? That passage is quoted from top12runoff.
Correct netiquette is to paste the link to the article you're discussing. It avoids confusion, and more importantly doesn't breach copyright. I'll edit the post and leave the link up there. Just in case that seems unfriendly, may I say welcome to the forum. |

Wherever it is from it does not give us information about the another very talented father and son duo - Tim and William Mason who's Pilbeam is, I think, up for sale. Perhaps a fairly regular forumist can tell us what they hope to be driving

Nice try FLOADS but teh Mason's have only got the Reynard-peugeot for sale. The Pilbeam went over a year ago to Alastair Crawford.

No attempt at starting a rumour. Senility brings on a diminution in the number of brain cells - I am never certain who has what these days. So they will be demonstrating skill, determination and a very smooth style in the Reynard next season with son faster than father ????????

Bxxxxy hell. I should really read the post more carefully. Substitute "in whatever car they drive" for "the Reynard". I shall go and rest.

Tittle Tattle
1) DaveK is correct the ex-Moran V6 Opel is currently sat in the Tony Eyles Force. This car will not be out at the Easter Croft sprint due to an Eyles Family get together. However watch out as it should be QUICK!
2) John Sampson is having a full body make over - on the Xtreme not himself!!!!!! Simon McBeath's Wing Shop will be handling the re-design which should improve the brute's performance - that's the Xtreme!!!!!! 3) Expect some announcements in the next week or two about sponsorship for the British Sprint Championship plus changes in the Category Structure and regs. |

Easter Sprinting
Fireblade - the problem is that the organising club more or less have to have Easter Monday as with the other events on at Croft over Easter they get it at a reasonable price. If they waited until June the cost would be many times more.
So if you want to Sprint round Croft get the thermals out |

Thanks for that Steve but I will pass on that invitation if you don't mind.
Loton can seem like the North Pole at Easter and many times we have had an Easter snowball fight at lunchtime. With Sir Michaels deer in the park the place resembles an automotive version of Lapland. The British Hillclimb championship traditionally kicks of at Easter but this year is a few weeks later due to Easter being early. |

Bambi Burgers!
Loton is very pleasant and the prospect for competitors of nabbing a prime bit of venison must be a huge draw!
Hoping to be there for the first round of the Hillclimb Championship |

In case you hadn't spotted it, Ed Hollier has his OMS for sale in Auto Sport, which is a shame if he's not replacing it because he was massively entertaining to watch in that car.

Loton Park Test Week-end
Well the first foray onto the black stuff for the hillclimbers will be this week-end's Loton Park Test Days.
There is Good News and Bad News, as one would expect! Several drivers haven't got their new cars ready so have scratched, they include Roger Moran, Mike Dean and Geoff Rollason. The Good news is that the Fleetwood's, Deryk Young, Paul Haymes/Allan Warburton, Tony Eyles, Karl Davison/Chris Merrick and Willem Toet are all scheduled to be there both days. There should be 70 to 80 cars on track thus an ideal warm-up for the new season. |

Did anything come of Willem's car sharing search? I got the impression that his participation depended on it, but I haven't heard anything. A fairly competitve seat going begging.
So had we ought to do a predictions competition? 1 Champion 2 Surprise of the season 3 Disappointment of the season 4 Best newcomer to the top class 5 Most destroyed record of the season (class/venue) You can leave out no 3 if you don't want to hurt anyone's feelings. It is supposed to be a friendly sport after all. |

Or most trouble to the marshals as we call it!
I thought about it, but I want to be kind. Most of the usual culprits behaved themselves last year so we're revising our lists anyway. |
