Who put that poll in?
With wording like that must be a person who specialises in options not decisions! Do you want to go to New Year do,Yes or No? The word provisional is not needed.Numbers of actuals are. Will you attend a thing from noon 30/12 at Ace Cafe ,NCR.Yes or No. No wonder your country is going to the dogs with wishy washy questions like that. Bit like they are pregnant or not pregnant. It's one or the other. |

If you are bringing bikes I will try to get Gerry Cain to bring one of his fantastic collection down, I won't get on one though, lost several mates 'in period' one Big Hoss Cartright driving from the Ace to the Busy Bee in Watford also nearly killed myself one dark night as well thats when I decided for my future well being and because the birds were better I became a car bound suited up mod when I turned 17. :-) BTW Gerry (used to race a really nice SD1) in his youth lived around the corner from the Ace and used to frequent the place as a whippersnapper and was befriended by an American girl who rode a huge Harley and very quickly as well, one of his most treasured possessions is a picture of him and her with him sitting on the bike. She was a cult hero at the time with all the bikers but unfortunately never made old bones coming to a premature end on the North Circular Road while dueling one night, crazy times.

So we have a confirmation of 29th or 30th December at Ace Cafe.
They have toy run for modified cars on 30/12 leaving at 6 pm but expect we are OK for lunch time.If not we have to settle for 29/12. How many people are going to actually turn up.No ifs and buts and no excuses. Told them between 20/40 and 20 vehicles.Already have four of us so only need another twenty and we are in business. |

Did I ever tell you about the time I stood up Olivia Newton John on a blind date? Its a 100% true story I swear, I regretted ever since especially as I only stood her up as I was dating my old woman. BTW I cannot see any reason why I cannot make it especially if John is bringing the old bangers.

Er, that was me!!
Was only trying to gauge reaction... Actually, had been trying to book Café du Marché (nice French gaff in Smithfield, with a private dining room) for around 3rd/4th December. Seems things have taken on a life of their own, and Ace Café is the preferred venue. If so, and the missus allows me, I'll be there. If the weather looks relatively benign, will bring the Alfa (remind me to take the shagged Dunlop racers off and replace with road wheels, though!). James Quote:

It is a good idea but how many are turning up?
Will ask the question a few times and may get an answer. Seems about a dozen so far but don't know Iain and his gang about 4 Al 1 JR 4 James 1/2 Zef 1/2 Terry 1 perhaps. Any other takers. |
